I have been here twice with my wife. The first time was good me and my wife enjoyed our dinner here. We had an older lady attend to us with a warm smile and what looked like a genuine happiness for us to be there. Like I said before the first time was overall a great experience. This second time, I don't think I have ever been ligitamitly mad at a restaurant. ( I have worked in a restaurant for over 3 years so I know how everything can go wrong. I know how one mistake can cause a domino effect from there on and it's never just one person's fault. I know I can't judge a place just on one employees work.) That being said this second time we were here we went to the bar again, it was a little busy so we had to get one of the bartenders attention to get a menu. No big deal I know how it is, once me and my wife decide on what to drink we grab his attention again. I tell him I want (X) beer, with the most annoyed face he says (we don't have that beer and I can I see y'alls ID). My wife proceeded to order hers and I make a quick choice in order not to bother him again. Close or tab and enjoy our beers on their balcony. We half way finish our beers and we decide to go back in at the bar. ( We are slow drinkers so by now there's only a hand full of people at the bar.) We sat on another side of the bar where the previous bartender who had us was not at in order to avoid his negativity. It's somewhat dead now and we again still have to get the attention of a new bartender for a food menu. We decide what we want and by this time I have finished my beer and my wife has a quarter left of hers. I place my EMPTY glass forwered, 10 min go by not one of the FOUR bartenders says anything to us. I gave up at this point not only was there an empty glass in front of me at the bar but also a closed menu in front of us and not one of them approached us. They were just chatting among themselves and one of them was doing there job and the other just talking to his friends that came in. We just got up and left to go eat somewhere else. I have never experienced this in my life of eating out. I'm haven't been mad at a restaurant before as I know there's more than one piece to the puzzle. This time they really had no...
Read moreBad brunch experience, won’t return for anything else.
We tried to visit the restaurant next door, which is fantastic—however, their wait time was over an hour. We were in need of a quick brunch, so we opted for Crickets which was near empty. Should have been a red flag. The food was cold, not as described on the menu, and the service was awful.
We waited 20 minutes for beverages (for a group of 7: 6 waters, 3 coffees, and 1 unsweet tea). After multiple trips to the bar, our cold coffee finally arrived.
45 minutes after ordering food, it arrived—again, cold. A couple ordered the Chicken and Pig, a couple the French toast, a burger, pancakes, and a breakfast burrito.
The Chicken and Pig was described as “fried chicken tenders and bacon-infused housemade belgian waffles; served with mike’s hot honey and cinnamon maple butter.” No bacon in the waffles, no hot honey, and no cinnamon maple butter. Instead, we were given cold chicken and waffles—completely dry.
Not to worry, we were able to at least ask for syrup since we had to also ask for silverware and napkins. By the time 15 minutes had passed and the syrup, silverware, and napkins arrived, the food was even colder.
The chicken was dry and tough, the “fresh” strawberries on the French toast mushy, the breakfast burrito and burger both underwhelming, we were never given any refills, and our server was almost always across the building.
If you’re thinking, “these people probably shouldn’t have gone to a bar for brunch,” you’re absolutely right. Touché. But don’t advertise brunch if you can’t deliver. Also, I’m not convinced any iteration of Crickets is likely to win me over.
Food: 👎 Service: 👎 Value: 👎
Crickets misses on all three. Honestly, it’s not worth your...
Read moreFood was good but service at the bar was terrible. It was very slow when I went in with my boys on a Friday around 4PM. My boys are 5&6 and I asked if it was allowed if we could sit at the bar with kids. There were only like three others at the bar. I got a beer but had to wait for 10 minutes to place my order. I asked for kids menu so it was obvious I was going to eat. The bartender, in the picture, literally spent 30 minutes at the end of bar talking to this person. It wasn't until I complained to the manager (long hair, pony tail) that I started getting better service. I did ask both of my boys if they liked the food, thumbs up or thumbs down. It passed their test which is pretty amazing. We were staying at the Hilton across the street for two days. By the way, I was waiting for my wife and mother-in-law to meet us there. Once we got a booth with them, everything was smooth sailing. They just need to let this bartender go, not impressive. It was actually another bartender that ended up helping us more because I wasn't getting the time of the day from the other. They have kids menus, but I don't feel like I was treated as a kid friendly place. I'm wondering if the bartender was just annoyed that my kids were there. We were all eating...
