Went with a group of work friends to check out Dog Haus, Waco’s newest spot after a few delays opening. We were excited to see what they had to offer, but it was a mixed bag.
Value-wise, this is on the pricey side. Hot dogs run $9–$12, burgers and chicken sandwiches are closer to $15, and sides add up fast. Tater tots were $5 and enough for two people, so that’s probably their best value item.
Taste? The hot dogs were fine—better than store-bought—but nothing “elevated” or standout for the price. Condiments like generic mustard and ketchup felt like a missed opportunity to shine. Condiments should really stand out at a place like this. The "hot tots" were not crispy nor were they spicy. We wanted to try the mini corndogs, but the server said they were “out,” which makes me wonder if they aren’t made to order. Overall, I’d give the dogs a 6–7/10.
Ambiance is all screens and cold vibes—a sports bar without much character. Service was friendly but slow, with our server tapping his handheld order screen endlessly—it felt like a lot of clicks for a simple order.
Overall: 3/5. It wasn’t a bad experience, but at these prices you really need to wow. I might give it one more shot, but soggy tots and basic condiments aren’t helping. If you’re going to charge high prices for hot dogs, you have to nail the...
Read moreDog Haus Waco has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. I came in thinking it to be a sports bar and was seriously impressed. The food is way better than your typical bar fare and the atmosphere is perfect for watching a game or hanging out with friends.
The burgers and wings were top-notch, and everything came out hot and fresh. The craft beer selection is solid with plenty of local options, and the cocktails are surprisingly good too. The staff is friendly, quick, and you can tell they actually enjoy being there.
The space has a great vibe with lots of TVs, clean tables, good music, and a patio that’s perfect for kicking back. The location is great with close...
Read moreWent for dinner on a Saturday night and the server informed us the kitchen was closed temporarily for 10-15 min. We thought, no big deal and ordered a drink,…almost an hour later the kitchen was still not open and the server was then more honest about how backed up they truly were. So, we closed out and went else where. We then went back the next when they seemed not busy. After a good while, multiple servers walking past us, and no one ever bring us menus, we left. We’ve been once before when they very first opened and the food was good, but the service seems very...
