Hemingways Watering Hole — Restaurant in Waco

Went on a Friday night after dinner at Moroso's. Our bartender was very nice and personable and immediately helpful-we liked her very much. While looking for a place to sit, we noticed a puppy sleeping on a couch inside the bar-no biggie, it was super cute and not bothering anyone. Not much longer after that a young guy (we assume he's somehow related to the owner) placed the puppy on the actual bar top where people place their drinks while sitting--the puppy proceeded to pee on the bar!! The puppy peed on a little mat that's kept on the bar, so the young man took the mat outside-we have no clue what happened out there with that mat (if it was hosed off, etc). The guy came back pretty fast though and put the mat back-we never saw any actual cleaning, never saw the bar top wiped off, never saw the guy wash his hands!!! Then the puppy started chewing on a wooden box of straws and the straws themselves!!! So the young guy just threw away a few of the straws!!!! After all that, the puppy was put on a barstool. I'm no germophobe and I love puppies but this whole experience put us all off!! How do we know the straws in our drinks hadn't been chewed on???? Or what if I sat at that spot where the puppy peed??? I'm sorry but it's not only bad management but a horrible...

Before tonight Hemingway's was a place I went a couple of times a month. After tonight I'm not sure . I was there tonight to have a couple of drinks. I'd been drinking rum and diet Coke .I asked the bartender (female) what ideas she had for vodaka. She gave me 5 or 6 choices, which didn't appeal to me, so I said just said give me the same. Then without notice she went nutso on me. Tells me to get out of the bar .at which time some unknown guy comes out and tells me to leave .Not a bartender, just some guy. I offered to pay my bill, but they just told me to leave, which I did .
