It was all about Ms. Rita Joy. She and I spent a lot of time here with her family and friends and just us. I return to celebrate her life... time after time... it is one of my traditions. Her spirit is attached around town, and I visit where she still resonates.
I seek to celebrate such a remarkable friend the rest of my life following what she mentored me to navigate against. She was a true friend who, until she died, loved me and taught me the things, only a mother could teach, which I believe is what I've needed the most in my life. My mother died at 39. For this, I will celebrate the one who taught me how to love myself because I am worth love. She taught me so much, and yes, she knew my Father, George Oscar Houseman Sr. My beloved father. They coriografered many of Waco Civic Theater dance routines here in Waco, Texas, many many many years ago. God bless all the hard work, anyone that knows me... it took. I have a family disease from my mother's side... Celiac Sprue disease. Ms. Rita totally understood. For this, I will always be glad to know someone who loved my daddy, my family, and me! So when you see me there, understand these people, that totally understood...me!
God bless that Central Texas has been my home since 7th grade, Robinson, Texas. We landed here after we left the island. For this, I praise the Lord, my Jesus Christ. I am safe and sound to bring in one more year. May 2024 be an eye opener for those who do not believe "Only God is the answe, never the devil, he lies!" So hold on to what you believe. God is my only salvation!
Wake up. It's time to go to Longhorn Steakhouse, where the Holy Spirit lives among us....
Read moreSince I have never eaten at longhorn steakhouse, I suggested my family and I go there tonight for my birthday and what a huge disappointment. It wasn't really busy and I asked for a booth so the host proceeded to seat us by the bathroom, when I asked to sit away from the bathroom, she tries to seat us right next to the bathroom at a table when there was plenty of booths available that were away from the bathroom. She then gave me an attitude and finally sat us away from the bathroom. Not a good start and definitely not a good 1st impression. It took the waiter, Ryan, almost 15 minutes to come over and get our drink orders. We ordered and the steaks tasted burnt. I mentioned it to the waiter and he apologized and walked away. He brought togo boxes and again I mentioned that my steak, bone in ribeye tasted burnt and I barely ate it. My dad got the porterhouse which also tasted burnt. I ordered my steak medium and my dad got his medium rare. Again he just said sorry and walked away. We asked for refills of our drinks and he refilled the drinks at the table next to us but not us. I actually got up to ask for a manager because at this point, I'm completely disgusted with the lack of customer service and the steaks. After this experience, I will not return to eat here. This ruined my birthday. What a horrible experience especially since this was the first time ever eating here. I would not recommend eating here. The whole experience from beginning to end was the worst I have ever had! Saltgrass, Texas roadhouse and outback steakhouses is where to go for great steaks! Unless you like burnt steaks, don't go...
Read moreMy husband and I had dinner at the Waco LongHorn last night (Aug.3,2017) with some friends and we were both very impressed by the service we received. Beyond the just exceptional quality of food, timing of service, and friendly staff, we were so impressed by the intentionality. They accommodated our many special requests, comped a side of fries for the kiddos (just because) and charged us a lunch price soup/salad for one child even though it was 7:30 p.m.
Another over the top impressive moment for us was when our server asked if we had a birthday at our table, she had thought she'd overheard that. We said no, but then I remembered my birthday is next Sunday so I said if there was free ice cream involved then I was game! She laughed and said of course. We asked her to take a photo of us all (Our friends were visiting from California) and she obliged and then said, "We'll be back after dinner to take another photo with the birthday surprise too!" and sure enough after dinner, I was served a beautiful ice cream sundae, personalized syrup greeting on the plate, cheesy eye goggles to play with, and they took a digital camera photo of us, printed it, framed it, and had all the servers and manager sign the frame! AND gave me a coupon for a free appetizer.
I was so touched. It wasn't expected, wasn't embarrassing, and felt very thoughtful.
Thank you LongHorn's for the fun night, wonderful service, and...
