One standout dish that left a lasting impression on me was the crawfish enchiladas. Despite my initial skepticism about seafood in enchiladas, I was pleasantly surprised by their exceptional flavor. It was truly one of the best I've ever had. The innovative combination of crawfish with traditional Mexican flavors is a culinary marvel that should not be missed when visiting Waco.
For those seeking variety, the spinach enchiladas and brisket enchiladas with BBQ dipping sauce are also highly recommended. The spinach enchiladas, in particular, offer a fresh and delightful twist to the traditional dish, making it perfect for a light supper or a hearty meal.
Ninfa's goes above and beyond to cater to various dietary needs, offering a range of vegetarian and vegan options. They ensure that everyone at the table can indulge in something delicious and satisfying. Don't miss out on the charro beans and refreshing sweet tea, as they complement the dining experience with their distinct and delightful flavors.
Special mention must be made of the delectable green salsa served here. Its perfectly balanced flavors add an extra zing to every bite. Read moreSuper excited to see a Ninfa's, as we're big fans of the New Mexico locations (Albuquerque, Santa Fe, etc.). Located in the Spice Market, this restaurant was really convenient, as it's just a hop, skip and a jump across the street from the Hilton, which was where my group and I were staying for the night. If I could've made a meal out of chips and green sauce, I would've (the sauce is THAT good). However, I ordered the BBQ Brisket Enchiladas and subbed Cilantro Cream Sauce for the BBQ sauce. But upon arrival, I was sad to see that the brisket was sliced instead of shredded (or even chopped) and that it was basically big hunks of fat and no meat. The sauce was good and I loved the spices in the refried beans, but the rice was bland and really dry.
I also ordered a Coconut Margarita, which was an electric blue when it arrived. I realized it was a coconut syrup, so I stirred many, many times to mix it together, but it never ended up tasting like coconut... just a really strong, cheap frozen margarita.
Our waitress wasn't very friendly either. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, I assume she was frazzled or just didn't want to be working on such a busy day, but she basically disappeared once our order was taken. Three different servers came by our table for chip refills, order delivery and to clear the plates. We were never even asked if we needed more drinks. Sorry to say that Ninfa's didn't live up to its...
Read moreWent here for mother's day. Of course it was crowded. That's to be expected. But we had four different waiters because they couldn't figure out which table belonged to them. Still fine. But then I ordered the ground beef enchiladas. They were so disgusting and greasy. I took two bites and it tasted like something had gone bad. I sent it back and I ordered cheese enchiladas with a cream sauce. It came out with a chili sauce, which I cant eat. Still I tried a couple bites after scraping off the sauce. It was just a glob of cheese wrapped in a greasy tortilla. I couldn't eat it. I took 2 bites of refried beans which were adequate. The rice had a bad flavor. I finally just pushed it all aside and ate some of my husband's chicken breast, which was not bad. It was cooked all the way through, which was about all I expected at this point. They did end up knocking off the price of both plates of enchiladas. But then...my husband had ordered something that showed a picture with $20 on it. When the check came, they charged 32. We said no, we ordered this one and showed them the menu. She said on no, that's not the right price. So we were like...well where is the price for this? She says, "it's not listed on the menu, we are just supposed to tell you if you ask."...
