I didn't actually order any food I only ordered a drink a Long Island iced tea I requested to have the gin taken out and replaced with peach synops it's a drink that I order everywhere that I go to my favorite drink. Immediately after taking one sip of the drink it just did not taste right and I didn't want to be rude to the bartender so I just asked her if she could add some more Coke to it which she politely did no problem and it's still did not taste very good It still was actually really bad and again I didn't want to be rude I thought well I'll just go sit down and sip on it maybe order something different on my next drink... A few ships later I approach the bartender a second time very politely told her I'm not trying to complain I'm usually not one to complain and it's nothing personal but it really I still don't like it very much could I just get a glass of Coke on the side. Again she was very polite she gave me the glass of Coke I went and sat down again continued to try to drink the drink, However I sat there for almost 2 hours and could not stomach to drink more than just the maybe an oz of the top of the glass. It was almost closing time so rather than make myself sick trying to drink this I went to the bartender, again, both glasses still basically full... And I asked what the bars policy is on refunding if a customer just absolutely is not happy with the drink m... I apologize again reassured her that I wasn't trying to be rude .. She responded by telling me that if I had requested the refund after maybe a sip then she could have done it but the bar does not allow her to refund drinks this long after ... So despite the fact that I only waited because I was trying to be polite, despite the fact that I brought both glasses back basically full and still obviously not watered down I hadn't done anything to them, I was told that I was just stuck paying $13 plus the tip for a drink that I ultimately left on the bar when I left It was that bad.... Now I'm going to be rude because personally I would love to bartend but I don't know how to make the drinks so I don't even apply for those jobs, unless they offer training ... It is my recommendation that perhaps is bartender should consider the same policy because I'm sorry I'm going to say it now I've never seen anybody screw up a Long Island iced tea that badly.... Beautiful girl very friendly great customer service at but if you can't make the drinks then you don't need to be bartending .. and as for the bars policy I don't know how the owner would have handled the situation but if it is your policy to have people pay $15 or more for a drink that's left on the bar because they can't stomach it then I don't know how you're still in business ... I've been here a few times in the past always loved it never had a problem but I'm pretty certain I...
Read moreI am a "pepper head" and come here regularly for the great atmosphere and the reaper wings. Since the induction of the reaper wings, I was the first person to complete the "challenge" by finishing all of the wings, and have since finished the entire order 5 more times. The owner was present the first time I had the wings and the sauce was decent. Good flavor, decently spicy, not a great sauce consistency though, more of a salsa, but I enjoyed them thoroughly nonetheless. My problem is that, since the reaper wings are the main attraction for me, I expect good wings and good sauce every time, however, the wings have gotten consistently worse with every visit. They have been cooked too long and/or left under a heat lamp for too long so the sauce dries out. Tonight I visited and waited 40 minutes for my wings. However, this still wasn't the major disappointment. I received the wings and they were overcooked, dry, and even the sauce was dried out to a powder. The wings were not wet at all, nor were they anywhere near the spiciness I expected. Buffalow Wild Wings greatly exceeded the spiciness of the wings I received, and they don't make me sign a waiver. I asked for extra sauce, which took another 20 minutes to receive. My wings were cold when I got the sauce, and it still wasn't nearly as spicy as the first time I got it. I'm a spice nut and enjoy things way spicier than most people, but even my girlfriend said this sauce wasn't that spicy, and she barely eats jalapeños. Not to mention that everyone at my table commented on how dry and unsatisfying the wings looked. They were absolutely correct. Also, the owner seemed impressed the first time I ate all the wings. He said if I did it one more time, I'd receive a plaque with my name on it and it would be hung in the bar. I have since done the challenge 5 additional times, each of which I have asked for the owner and told the waitress the situation with the promise of the plaque, and still nothing. Likely will not be returning here, at least not for the disappointing wings, unless they come up with a sauce that can actually make me cry and cook the wings properly. The waiver is just a gimmick to attract people, but the wings will leave them disappointed. Don't get me wrong, Oakley's is a nice bar. Nice, fun atmosphere, and I enjoy my time there, bit if you're coming for the "reaper...
Read moreI went here for a work lunch thinking it would be a great idea! My coworkers were all from out of town and when lunch came around they didnt want anything commercial like McDonald's, taco bell, or whataburger/chipotle. I was exited to show them a little of waco texas and thought oakleys bar that has been in waco for 20 plus years would be good. They have to have great food right?! I was very wrong, we waited an hour for our food and during the middle of waiting our waitress informed us that 2 of our 3 plates that come with shrimp wasnt going to be provided so they would make up for it with double catfish.....OK fine, but when the plates finally came it sure didn't look like double catfish. My friend got a bayou bowl, she was extremely disappointed. They forgot my other co-workers plate completely so we had to get a refund for it. Other friend had steak quesadillas and it looked like someone accidentally spilled a couple pieces of steak is a cheese quesadilla. not one person of 6 was satisfied with their plate. The waitress was far more attentive to some guys who felt like they owned the bar a table next to us. They even interrupted her in the middle of taking out order and she flew right over. It was quite rude. Same guys who tried to walk out with beer from the bar when we finally got our food. Overall the atmosphere is very dull and the bars culture may not be palatable for all patrons. After my experience I definitely won't be going back there but best of luck to the business I'm sure they have good days. It's a 4 stars rating for a reason, im just telling you it's not a...
