Showmars Wake Forest — Restaurant in Wake Forest

I did an online to go order and was quite disappointed. We have eaten at this location many times and have been very pleased but today the staff was not up to par. My order included seven entrees. I thought since they had a space that you could put each name they would have written on the box each person name so we didn't have to figure out who's was who's when we got home- no big deal. They forgot the two drinks and one complete entree. When I called back to let them know what we were missing, I asked for a refund and was placed on hold. The girl that picked up asked again what we were missing and stated she was sorry. I asked if they could just refund my money. She said well the refund takes awhile but we can put your name on our book and then the next time you are here we will credit you. ( Never heard of a policy like that). I am thinking to myself, if you missed a complete entree and 2 drinks, you think I trust you to place my name in a book. Please note I know I placed a bigger order, but I also tipped well on the to go order. I told her that I would just like a refund, she replied ok it will take a while but I can do that and hung up! So I would like to know if I take her at her word or do I dispute on my credit card. I was so disappointed at Showmar's for their lack of concern of...

Update: I came in and the woman who “helped”me the first time was there today and the service was more welcoming. I ended up trying the Famous Fish Sandwich and I thought it was great! The service was very quick and it was busy but not overwhelming or loud. I do believe there is room for improvement, however today was markedly different than the first time.

Customer Service in NC “restaurants”, generally has been average or sub par never amazing. The young people they have working at counters and taking orders have been exceptionally off putting, Showmars was no different.

When I went in there were two young lady’s at the counter. I asked about the “world famous” fish sandwich and the one girl, who possibly just started working there said “I don’t know, you gotta ask her.” The other girl then responded she thought it was “alright”. I made a joke about it being called world famous and it just being alright and the one girl who was possibly new chuckled the other off putting one, not even a smile and she responded “I just work here.”

It was all off putting. We were looking for Mediterranean, it wasn’t exactly that, in combination with the poor service we decided to leave and ended up getting pizza.

Maybe I’ll try Showmars at some point, but probably...

I must say, my family and I arrived approximately 30 minutes before closing. I ordered the salmon and it was moist and flavorful but the greek salad needs improvement (Greek side salad), it needed more lettuce very flimsy. One thing, please inform your workers, one in particular continued to play with his hair while we were there and he did bring customers their food, more than once. I really wanted to return and try their soups later when it is more seasonal but my husband was not pleased with his order. He ordered the flounder, it looked appetizing but my husband said along with my daughter tasted like it was old, as if it sat in the refreigerator too long and the slaw had a unpleasant taste. Both my husband and daughter had the slaw and they both said the same about the slaw. May try the other Shomar in briar creek later when soups are in season.
