So, nothing in particular wrong with my coffee or service. Sure, it's too expensive but everyone, including me, knows that before heading to Starbucks.
The problem I had was variety and selection. I worked Ina coffee shop for 3 years while I was in college at Virginia Tech. We always had at least 6 different coffee flavors on brew all day until about an hour and a half before closing. Then we let things run out. All my mom and I wanted was a "regular" cup of coffee but something maybe unique to Starbucks or different from the run of the mill. For example, my mom wanted French Vanilla. Anyways, they had only one type of coffee on brew at 4:30 in the afternoon. That's it!!! This is a coffee shop, right?!?!?
I'll admit the coffee was good. No issue there. Then again it's very hard to mess up balck coffee with nothing else in it. But I was very disappointed with the selection. I guess Starbucks isn't too interested in selling "normal", non-specialty coffee anymore.
Another thing. Again, I worked in a coffee shop. I didn't expect a tip for simply getting someone a regular coffee. A massive special order cappuccino? Sure. But right there in the drive thru window was a tip box so big it actually hindered the girl from handing out the coffee. Obvious suggestion....
