Extremely disappointed. Let me explain why. The front desk attendant has VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS based on the way I was recently treated on my 3rd visit. I ordered a very basic breakfast Take Out. Grits, bacon, eggs and toast. The first time I came the food was great. I always give 30% tip. It was worth the wait although the wait can be long considering the influx of traffic. Still the meal was worth about 45 mins wait time so I decided to come back again. Another attendant explained it would be 30 to 40 mins. I purchased the exact same meal and waited over an hour. Finally she asked me HAVE YOU GOTTEN YOUR FOOD YET? I gave her a blank stare shaking my head sideways. She went to the back and returned a couple mins later with the food I had purchased with over a 30% tip. She did include some butter. However butter does not melt in cold grits. Also she stated the reason it took so long was the toast. Huh? Over 1 hour for toast? Give me a break. The toast was burnt black. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt so I decided to go back one more time to explain what happened and hopefully prevent it from happening again. I approached her at the desk. I explained my last order was delivered with cold grits and burnt toast and how disappointed I was with the Take Out I purchased. Her reply had nothing to do with my meal. Her first reply was you will have to wait about an hour if your order again. My reply was will my grits be cold? She says we are understaffed. Huh? Cold grits and burnt toast have nothing to do with being understaffed. Nothing. What if I were her parents or grandparents or somebody she knows? Nope I am convinced she would have treated me with the respect I deserved. Her poor customer skills and delivery of my food will cause her to lose a host of valued customer. I will never ever go back to that restaurant to spend my hard earned money. Forget the tip. It didn't matter to them anyway. She knows she was wrong and to avoid getting into a debate I turned around and walked out. I learned a valuable lesson with her. Unless you are a person in her community or family or somebody she knows she will treat you different. Some things will never change. Just like social media. She has caused me to dislike the Brigs Restaurant in Wake Forest and now I will share this story with anyone who wants to know a good friendly place to eat in Wake Forest area.i did not deserve that type...
Read moreI wanted to edit my review since we have been coming here for breakfast at least twice a month for the last 2 and 1/2 years. However on our last trip last weekend my wife and I were slightly disappointed and in our service that day. We had a server that has been there as long as we've been coming for the first time. However we personally felt a bit slighted in the service that was given compared to others around us. For example when we had orders there was a couple who was seated about 15 to 20 minutes after however their food was brought down at least a good ten minutes before hours and the quirky thing about it is what the wife had orders was the same thing as my wife had ordered. Coincidence Maybe but then it took our server another 10 minutes to bring her food out. Once it came especially mine it wasn't cold but it sure wasn't hot. We weren't asked if everything was all right but yet the other two tables were asked that. Unfortunately I kind of narrowed it down of a preconceived notion that African Americans don't tip as well and this was the mindset of the server who was also African American. Sadly based on his service and his service alone his tip was not what we usually give. I'm a stickler on customer service and how it's done and will gladly tip above 20% if the service was spot-on. Will this stop us from coming of course not one incident and one person does not stop what we conclude it's probably one of the best breakfast and lunch restaurants around but we will no longer sit where...
Read moreThis was my first time eating here or ever even hearing of this place. My husband and I was out and he said what's a good place to get some breakfast on this side of town? Well I pulled out my phone and googled and immediately chose this place because their menu put me in the mind of Metro Diner. So I thought to myself why not give it a shot, and to my surprise I am glad I DID!! Nice cozy atmosphere and the waitress was very nice and helpful. We started out with hot tea, lemon, and honey which was perfect since it was snowing outside on the first day of spring. We ordered our food and it was out, hot, fresh, and cooked to order in less than 15 minutes which was impressive because they were rather busy. Not only did the food have a culinary look and decor to it, but it tasted as good as it looked. Now I thought no body pancakes could come close to Cracker Barrels, but their pancakes we're light, fluffy, and even without the crisp that Cracker Barrels pancakes have, this place pancakes we're EXCEPTIONAL especially when paired with their turkey link sausages. My husband and I will be going back again, and to our surprise because it was my husband's birthday, we received 50% off his meal as a gift. I am so glad I found this place, and I hope you find your...
