First dine-in experience was very good & delicious too! The following week we placed a good size take-out order. Read the written order, repeated the additional needs n the order-taker repeated everything A+ 45 minutes to pick-up...sent Nono (he paid there with CC) Two bags and off he went, he tipped $10.00 on the "quilt screen" with eye's staring down on him.. (he said he felt uncomfortable with that) Drove back to the daughter's home with, 3 adults & 4 grandchildren awaiting Nonos return w/food. (4 girls under 7)
Unpacked! Set them up first! Didn't take long, all pitched in quickly! Drive is literally 6 minutes or less!
I was told the 4 dinners included bread & butter...NO BREAD/BUTTER!!
Requested a side of hot the whole hot peppers..will pay extra for that requirement and X grated cheese & red sauce requirement.
NO PEPPERS! (just the one added to steak tip dinner plate)
NO extra grated cheese (2) sent (3 pasta dishes were ordered) so down one anyways.
NO EXTRA RED SAUCE! Ordered 6 meatballs (small btw) barley any sauce, could make the mini meatball sandwiches for a few of us n 2 children.
2 sides of rice...$3.99-ish! Wasn't even a 1/2 cup of cooked rice...ice cold too!
Undercooked thick FF were sent with the Chix dinner meal, then 3 full tenders, and 2 ends, size of a half dollar amount sent for the 2nd order. FF weren't eaten..cold & mushysoft, limp!
The three adults mentioned that they were thinking the same as the others...when one adults, verbalized portions appeared OFF?? Salad, tips & tenders. The Shrimp Scampi over Linguini was flavorless, no garlic/lemon? They put a layer of cheese? over the pasta...it turned into a hard crust, stuck to pasta...so that layer wasn't edible, with (5 frozen?? Shrimp) they weren't white shrimp meat...rubbery texture as well. Sadly this 2nd visit wasn't what we expected based on last weeks visit/orders.
We've had the stk tips and pasta dishes at many functions in the past. This was very disappointing for getting the order RIGHT, temperature of food, portions, quality and...
Read moreWell...what to say about Sonny Notos? My mother and father go there a lot, and I went there the other day to check it out. So let's talk about the alcohol and the over pours they give you. So they give you a large wine glass, and FILL IT to the brim. There's at least two glasses in one glass of wine. You just drank a whole bottle ordering two glasses. Seriously over pouring and the owner has to be loosing money Everytime they pour a glass of wine!! Not to mention it's about $3.00 a glass! So pro or con? You decide...
The other thing I wanted to mention is the food of course. I've had good and not so good dishes. I wasn't a fan of their chicken broccoli and ziti...matter of fact the sauce made me sick. So that will never happen again..but the steak tips? I highly recommend!😋 Especially there steak tip salads! They are pricey at just a bit over $16.00 per salad, but it's STEAK. You wanna go to Nick's and your paying for BEEF at $10.00 a salad not STEAK. Again, weigh that out in your mind. The staff at the front are nice. And it's a bit small... But a good place for work meetings, a quick bite, or even a nice place to go for dinner and watch the game!
Of course it's in the old Tooties building so whoever is there has some shoes to fill and NO ONE will compare to Toodies. But Sonny Notos and there steak tips may be a contender. Had to rate it three stars because I've had a mix of good and bad.
EDIT: I've had so many people ask me about the quality of their food due to someone posting a review on Facebook. There wasn't anything nice about what the person said and I beg to differ. I've never had anything that tasted like "formaldehyde" ever! I didn't have a food experience with the pasta but nothing that even compared to what the person said. Sonny Notos has all fresh foods and before leaving a nasty review, please inform the manager or speak with the owner. They'll take...
Read moreThis is such a cool, low-key dining spot. The vibe is like a sub shop where you order at the counter but have the option to sit down and eat or get your food to go. I dined in, and was surprised to see a small bar (I saw beer and wine, not sure if they sell any hard alcohol) where you could sit and drink/eat. While we waited for our food, we were brought slices of bread that were pre-buttered and delicious! They also brought the silverware in a food basket to the table so your definitely getting that relaxed style of dining here. I have to say the food was absolutely incredible! We had the steak tips, chicken brocolli and ziti in a garlic sauce, eggplant sub, and mozzarella sticks. ALL of which were absolutely delicious, seriously. The chicken brocolli and ziti, if you get it in the garlic sauce (because there are different sauce options) is very garlicky, just a little warning incase a strong garlic isn't your thing. The steak tips were cooked to perfection, just as I had ordered and bursting with flavor. The eggplant sub was one of the best I've had to date. It wasn't overly saturated in cheese and had a nice texture to it. I'm excited to go back and try more food options from here and highly recommend making a stop if you're in the...
