Was very excited to try the place out as I’ve heard nothing but greatness. Unfortunately, my experience was not good, not good at all. I ordered a simple wet burrito with ground beef and beans, a side of black beans and rice and a side of pickled jalapeño. My first burrito delivered was chicken and ice cold. Our server did a check and acknowledged my order was incorrect. My beans and rice were delivered after my incorrect order was removed from the table, that, too was incorrect… refried beans and rice was delivered, not black beans…. Also ice cold. The server returned with my “corrected” order: the burrito was ground beef, NO BEANS, and again, ice cold. A side of black beans accompanied my “ corrected” order… those too, were ice cold. The manager approached our table: no apologies, what is wrong with your meal? I explained, the food was cold and my burrito was missing beans. Again no apology; just “I’ll remove it from your bill,” Unfortunately, I wasn’t looking for something for free, I was looking for a meal to satisfy my hunger…. No offers to fix, no “ how can we make this right?”
Things happen, mistakes are made, but the insensitivity and unawareness of both the server and the manager were unacceptable.
I left hungry and disappointed. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for 40 years, I won’t be back, nor will the people I share this experience with....
Read moreTLDR: I’ve been here a total of 3 times so I’ll update with the other photos when I get to them 🤣. The food is good, service is good, staff is nice, and the music/atmosphere is also nice.
The first time we visited, they sat us up in the attic 🤣 away from everyone except the kids of other patrons who didn’t want to watch them? We were in an alcove near the restrooms and the children would run about and scream- but that wasn’t the restaurant’s fault- that was faulty parenting. Anyway, point is, if you can get sat downstairs, it’s much nicer.
We both ordered the large agua de Jamaica, and it was LARGE! I couldn’t finish it 😋.
I ordered the Enchiladas de Camaron (Three shrimp enchiladas cooked with vegetables, rice and beans topped with white cheese) and they were really good. He ordered the tacos birria? I think? That’s what they look like but I couldn’t find them on the menu so maybe he ordered something else and I’ll have to revise later. He really liked them.
We have returned twice with friends since this visit so I’ll update with more pictures when I...
Read moreInviting atmosphere that was once a brewery; now comfortably a nice Mexican dine-in restaurant. (Their location in Muskegon is top notch so we only anticipated great things…and they did not disappoint.) Complimentary chips and salsa were the perfect start (great heat level in the salsa and fresh/warm chips). Party tried the carne asada taco dinner and the shrimp fajita salad. Both meals were prepared well with nice size portions (for the money.) Cheese dip is a little bland and slightly overpriced but if you add some of their salsa to it, it definitely kicks it up a notch. Coke products are a huge plus! Service was good (their teamwork was superb). Overall a nice addition to the Walker area for an authentic...
