TLDR: I used to love this place. Now? Not so much. I’d been visiting Uccello’s weekly in Grandville for several years, as pre-covid they offered a BOGO free burritos on Tuesdays, and I made it a tradition to visit with my grandpa. When COVID hit, they changed the policy to be BOGO half off instead of free. Ok, we understand. The economy tanked and cost of everything went up. Fine. But the quality deteriorated despite the price going up. I stopped going to the Grandville location as it was out of the way, and I began picking up burritos from the Standale location and bringing them to my grandpa as his health deteriorated. Uccello’s then ended their BOGO and any discount they previously offered and I began to question whether we should continue to go to Uccello’s since the quality of the food had gone down, the portion size has also gone down, and the price had more than doubled in the 5 years that I’d been patronizing the local chain. When I moved in to the apartment complex that I lived in across the street, I was notified and given a sheet of local businesses that offered resident discounts, and I was assured that if I showed my keychain, Uccello’s offered a 15% discount for takeout orders. The first time I tried to use it, the staff had no idea that this was an offer, and told me ā€œwe’ll honor it this one time, but we’ve never heard of thisā€ā€¦ so I talked to the office management at my complex and they said they’d call over to Uccello’s and sort it out. Like I said, I visited weekly so I could bring my grandpa his weekly burrito, so I was hopeful about heading back, as I’d definitely use it and it would help my weekly Uccello’s budget out, as it had more than doubled in that year. I was notified that Uccello’s had changed their policy, and now it was 10% off rather than 15%. Ok, I get it. Covid times… in 2023… People are trying to just make it through… so the next time I visited and showed my keychain and mentioned the 10% off, I was treated with blank stares and given the same answer of ā€œwe’ll honor this one timeā€. Sorry, but I don’t enjoy feeling like I’m inconveniencing you by asking about something that you specifically offer to people who lived where I lived in order to get them through the door, and then being treated like I’m the problem. Get yourselves together! My grandpa ended up passing away, and I hadn’t visited Uccello’s in several weeks, but decided to stop in when my brother was visiting from out of state. I had a peach Bellini which was kinda just ok. When I had visited in the past with my grandpa, we never waited more than 5 minutes before we got service. On this occasion, we waited almost 25 minutes with the waitress visiting every table other than ours (we could see she had friends that had visited her) and giving us the side eye when we called to get her attention or order to take our food orders- we were starving. My brother had a cheeseburger pizza? It had pickles on it 🤣. My boyfriend had the nachos and I had some farfalle pasta with vodka cream sauce. It took an exceedingly long time to get our food out, and when we eventually got it, the server dropped off the food quickly and disappeared without asking us how it looked, etc- and all of our food was cold. I haven’t been back in a few months because honestly, the food has never been great and the service was worse on the one occasion I tried to re-try it. Maybe I’ll try it again, but after so many bad customer service experiences, this place falls pretty low on my list of locations to revisit.

Whenever we are going into the Grand Rapids area, we always stop at Uccello’s and we live on the east side of the state, so yes, we really like the place. This visit was for my graduation commencent and this was the choice for our cravings and I knew my choice before we left the house. Apps- pizza puffs and calamari, both fabulous, and the calamari melts, and is not rubbery, love it Minestrone soup- wonderful flavor Entrees were very tasty and did not disappoint, daughter had a pizza sandwhich, other daughter had create your own pasta and wife had lasagne,, myself, the entree that keeps me coming back, the seafood risotto. This time, of all the times of celebrations, it was a miss, the seafood risotto only had shrimp in it, no scallops or crabmeat. Of course I was disappointed, but the flavor was still very good. We did inform the waitress and she wanted to know if I wanted another, but there was no way I could eat another dish and it was not removed from the bill. Outside of this, our waitress was great. Only other issue was the lack of wanting to be at work by the hostess, she just had that ā€œdon’t want to be hereā€ look on her face, as she was laying across the hostess station as she was staring at social media on her phone. Again, we do love it here and we will come back, just disappointed on celebration day. 5/14/2022 James, can you provide me a way to contact you?

Very delicious pizza and bread at a good price! We got their $8.99 1 topping large and an order of U sticks. Pizza crust was actually cooked enough to stand up and not fall flat over under the weight of the toppings, toppings and sauce tasted high quality. This pizza and bread is what so many other places try and fail to be! Yum! Update. The review above was posted quite some time ago. I came in today to take advantage of their $8.99 special. Ordered a 1 topping pepperoni. Decided to check my order when i got to the vehicle. I ordered the pizza well-done baked, which was ignored it was severely undercooked. The surface was absolutely pooling with grease, and if you picked up the pizza from the crust, it just flopped over and all the toppings slid off. Was able to get a refund, but not without an attitude from the manager. I would not recommend going back. Quality standards have apparently tanked since my previous visit several years ago. Jets got my money for the night.

Manager Out OF LINE. I stopped in last Sunday with a couple of my friends to watch the Lions Game. Big Game, both teams undefeated, right? We sat by the railing which over looks the lower area that has all the big screen TV's. Out of the 8 ( not sure exactly how many) Big Screen TV's only one had the lions game on and it was way back on the back wall. I asked a waitress if she could switch one to the Lions Game so we could get a better view. She came back and said my manager said no. Waitress said would you like to talk to her. I said yes. Manager came to our table and said sorry but all the TV's are predetermined. Majority of the smaller TV's by the Bar area have the Lion Game on and suggested in the future you should also at least put 3 of the 8 big screen TV's on the Featured game. Not everyone wants to sit at or by the bar. I told her that I come here a lot but never on Sundays.I said the service is excellent, the food is great but I will no longer come on Sundays if this is how they format their TV's for the feature game. And left it at that. Then I saw a mother and her daughter go down to the lower area with all the big screen TV's and the mother was looking around at all the TV's confused as there was only 1 lion game. Having the problem I was having I went down there and asked her if she is looking for the Lion Game? She replied yes. I said I asked the manager to change a couple more over to the Lion game and she said no. Keep in mind the area was empty except for a couple tables by the one big screen TV with the Lion game on. The lady stood there and said you got to be kidding me. And the lady was still standing because she too went to see the lion game and wasn't sure where she wanted to sit. I said good luck and went back to my seat. Two minutes later the manager came back to my table and said if I talk to one more customer she will have to ask me to leave. As you can imagine I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I ask to speak to her manager and she said I will go get Him. 1.5 hours later no Mgr. I Left at half time, after I tipped my waitress 20%. Excellent waitress Horrible Manager. Now I realize what management is trying to do. They can control where they want the customer to sit. By having all the Bar area TV's with the Lion game on people will sit there. To a certain extent I get that. So I looked at the Uccello's web site and this is what I found for the manager... " We Treat every Guest as if they are a Guest in our homes. Make each Guest believe we are ā€œOn Their Sideā€ in every interaction." That was their 1st core...

Honestly I never take the time to make reviews this is my 1st time leaving a review of a restaurant but I just experienced some of the worst service I have ever gotten. I have been going to this location since I turned 21 had my very 1st legal drink there matter of fact….I'm 29 now so I guess I’ve been to this location a good time or two. Today 7/12/25 some friends and family 11 of us decided to sit down for some quick drinks and some where hungry for food. We arrived and got sat down around 2:02pm we starting talking to the waitress pretty normal all ordered our drinks within a few minutes… so now we start waiting for our drinks to be served 5 ….. 10….. 15…. Minutes goes buy and my father started to grow alittle impatient as we seen our drink order has been sitting up at the bar for some time now and we all try to relax him and say it’s gotta be coming soon but he might have been in the right this time bc as it’s sitting there collecting dust and the ice in the water is melting our server decided to tend to about 5 other tables that sat down Atleast 15mins after we took our seats…. Brought them there drinks 1st and proceeded to take each tables food order as well before even giving us our drinks we ordered. Granted I’m a patient man so I try to over look this but it literally took us 30mins to receive our drinks we finally got them at 2:32 and instead of asking if we are ready to order she decided to take on the next few customers to show up. At this point half the table is very irritated I thought restaurants where 1st come 1st serve type of deal Atleast all the other times I’ve been here it’s been that way. Oh and I forgot to mention after she brought the drinks half of us asked for our tabs and I didn’t receive that back until 2:55 over a 20min wait just to get my card back. I was also sitting with people who litterally have been working at a bar down the road….shots on Lake Michigan drive and they where even saying how ridiculous this was. So to make a long story short I guess if you want only one beer expect to be there for Atleast an hour! I didn’t reach the parking lot until 3:02 literally a whole hour for a drink that should have been 15-20 mins tops …. I really hope they can do better but I might stick away for awhile I wish I wasn’t pressed on time or I would have talked to the manger Jake about this. Sorry I’m not the best with words and all but this was flat out ridiculous. West side social, shots, and Caesars are right down the road with a lot better service if you’re...
