We've been doing laundry next door for a while, but usually in the mornings so Banana's hasn't been open. Lucky for us that changed today. Our Scooper was SUPER knowledgeable, and happily described each flavor that we weren't super about. And due to their massive selection, we had quite a few questions. In the end, I went with my favorite, Butter Pecan, to get a baseline. I'm from the south, where Butter Pecan is a staple flavor, and I've had many excellent versions of BP ice cream. Took a nice ride to Banana's in Wallingford for some ice cream for dessert and we were not disappointed. The staff here was nice, and the ice cream was delicious. They have lots of great flavor options, including of course some fine banana ice cream options. This place is in a little plaza, set back from the road, but it is worth looking for and stopping in for some tasty treats... We stopped here on a road trip to Texas. Wonderful ice cream with lots of choices! The flavors were true to what they were. We had a variety of treats: 1) a waffle cone with a scoop of black cherry ice cream and a scoop of peanut butter dream, 2) a junior banana split with black raspberry and black cherry ice cream covered with caramel sauce, whip-cream a cherry and sliced bananas, 3) cotton candy ice cream with Reese’s pieces 4) a waffle cone with sprinkles and chocolate covered strawberries ice cream.
