Where to begin…I pulled into some spaces in the back of the restaurant to check out some car issues. While realizing my muffler and tail pipe were hanging from my car, a gentleman, Marcus, came over to assist. Unbeknownst to me, he was the owner of Pokemoto. This man got on the ground, under my car and started helping and trying to improvise. My dad shows up at same time. Between my father and Marcus, my car is drivable now. It didn’t stop there. Marcus insisted we come into the restaurant to wash our hands and have meals on the house. I didn’t expect him to be so kind and bless us further. It’s easier to give a blessing then take one that’s for sure. So after a lot of insisting we accept the offer of the free meals. The restaurant is amazingly clean and the atmosphere is vibrant and inviting. The food looked very fresh and tended to. LET ME TELL YOU….I think I have a new favorite spot. I chose the ginger chicken bowl with brown rice. It was so fresh and flavorful! Chicken was tender, rice was just right (not everyone can nail brown rice), Kani salad was delicious. The avocado was perfect and the cabbage salad was fresh and crisp. A tad of sesame oil was the icing on the cake. IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN HERE YOU NEED TO GO. Not only is the food great but the person who owns it is a kind person and believes in blessing others. I am grateful to have had his help with my vehicle, his delicious food and to have met a good human. The woman who assisted in serving our food was very polite and kind as well. I am thankful for them both.
Marcus again I thank you! We will...
Read moreI've been twice now and was disappointed by the sub-par freshness of my poke bowls. I love poke, so it's so frustrating to build your bowl then dig in only to taste that everything is not as fresh as it could be. This happened the first visit when I noticed the shrimp were so extra fishy smelling and tasting that (even though I happily paid extra for them), I picked every single one off and did not eat them. The second visit, I did not add the shrimp, but the overall freshness was still off. There was also wasabi mixed into the avocado, so my bowl was spicier than intended. I think maybe a serving spoon was mixed in the wrong bowl. I did tell an employee but I could not tell anything was done about it. It doesn't take a manager or owner to just get two brand new, clean spoons to switch out the old ones. In any case, after two not so great experiences, I will not be returning here for...
Read moreA cool Hawaiian food that exists primarily of raw fish cubes covered in toppings. If you like sushi you'll like poke.
The food is made " sandwich shop style" where you direct an employee over the counter to pick your ingredients from a number of closely packed open food bins. It's definitely a sandwich shop style experience. The young adults behind the counter are usually very polite. I've had takeout orders messed up a few times when people ordered things that were similar, and every delivery service has an incomplete menu.
Since it's not exactly clear, people who can't handle spice should steer away from the "Pokemoto Chojang" sauce (as well as spicy mayo, wasabi and sweet chili sauces) as well as the...
