Mattress Firm Wallingford — Hotel in Wallingford

I ordered a mattress, box spring, and bed from MattressFirm online. I paid for removal of the old mattress and assembly of the bed. The box spring was delivered and the old mattress removed satisfactorily. But Mattress Firm made it impossible to arrange for the assembly of the bed once the mattress and bed frame had arrived. They did not answer my email. My first phone call to them resulted in no help. In a second call, I was promised that I’d receive a call at 6:00 pm. The 6 pm call never came. My third, fourth, and fifth calls left me trapped in an endless cycle of prompts. I wound up assembling this Queen sized frame, box spring, and mattress by myself.

The three items they sent are of good quality and very comfortable, and the price was excellent. The person I spoke with on my second call told me that they were working with a newly installed phone system, and that they were having major problems with it. Between that problem and the fact that this was the Memorial Day holiday and sale, I can see why it might have been impossible to reach them.

My advice: go to the store. Speak with a human and get their name, business card, and direct phone number. I ended up with a good quality bed at a great price, but with a lot of aches and pains from assembling the bed...

Had a wonderful experience today!!!! I knew exactly what I wanted when walking in and the staff was friendly and fast! I had tried to order the items in the North Haven store just before - but the employee in North Haven wasn’t exactly helpful... when an error message appeared on the computer during checkout he claimed that he was not able to place an order for my items and that I would have to do it online or call - didn’t try again, didn’t call anybody to try and process the order, just told me that I have to go home and do it myself (I should not be surprised, as this was not the first bad experience/display or laziness from the North Haven staff I’ve witnessed).

Anyway - the gentleman in the Wallingford store did an excellent job of making sure I was taken care of and my items were placed on order. If you’re in this area - avoid the North Haven store and ALWAYS go to Wallingford -...

I was on my way to Sleepy's Mattress Center where I bought the mattress I currently have, about a half mile north of Mattress Firm, when I spotted this place. The irony, and coincidence is that they are now both owned by the same corporation. Their TV ads state that the Sleepy's are changing to Mattress Firm. Same-Same..... Ok, this was closer and more convenient, so ol' Jimbo stopped and made his purchase knowing exactly what he was going to buy. The price would have been the same a half mile and five minutes up the road. And seeing as how, despite all the competition claims of "having the guaranteed best price", these are fair trade items, and the same price regardless of where purchased, the difference lies in delivery & removal costs of the old mattress, and perhaps a "free" pillow. Anyway, Kevin made the purchase quick, and explained everything very well. The product will be delivered...
