Had dinner with my son & fiancé last night & the service didn’t compare to any of my previous times there!
For starters we were seated before two other couples who were in the same vicinity. Actually we were in the middle of both couples who came in after us. Secondly our waiter Santiago barely spoke to us. His service as a waiter was just out right horrible.
Santiago took their order for appetizers. Then he only took our drink orders. The couple that came in after us ordered appetizers as well. We were only asked if we wanted to have drinks. That was strike one! As we were waiting for our drink he was extremely extremely attentive to the two tables in front & behind us! Every time he came to check on there acetone he would check on the couple in front of us & the couple behind us and completely walk past our table while looking directly past us as if we were going to rob or assaults him. My son even noticed the wired vibes that was being projected by Santiago.
When it came to our order that was a freaking circus show! He took the order, when asking about items on the menu he behaved as if he had no knowledge of what was on the menu. Lucky for me I worked at an authentic Mexican restaurant in the past so I had some familiarity with the menu items.
I had to ask him to repeat the order to make sure it didn’t get screwed up. FYI he still screwed up the order anyway! We ordered four menu items when our food came out the busier only brought out 3 items which wasn’t his fault! I had ordered the Piña dish & I asked if I could substitute for shrimp instead, I was told that they can’t substitute it, it wasn’t until I told him I would pay for the difference that my order was able to be accommodated. Which wasn’t a problem for me because I don’t eat meat so I never ever order it period!!! We had to wait extremely long for he Carne asada that we placed the order with the rest of our items! That hadn’t come out until we’re basically through with our meal.
An to be completely honest my meal was the only one satisfying meal served las night. My son disliked the his meal, my fiancé’s food according to him wasn’t pleasant at all. Couple that with Santiagos attitude & lack of attentiveness to our table made our experience not worthwhile. I asked my son if we should tip him his response “zero dollars”. Now when a child can notice such impeccably horrendous service you have a serious problem!
At the end of it all it wasn’t until after I spoke with his Night manager that his attitude showed a glimpse change! For $80 bucks worth of food we could of gone to the near by Chick-fil-a & received better service and all I can eat there is fries!!!
Managment told me that he would take care of me the next time I come back but to be truthfully honest I won’t be returning. Especially not for the treatment my family & I received. The worst part about it was at one point my son asked if it was because we were African-American. Like how do you explain that to a child! Read moreThis review is for the takeout, we have eaten at the restaurant and the food has always been great and the wait staff is excellent. We’ve been long time customers, since they were Plaza Azteca. We liked it so much that even though it’s about an hour round trip we started to get takeout from them, this is where our troubles started.
Almost every time we ordered takeout something would be wrong or missing from our order, we even started using there website to order so there would be no communication barrier, this did not help. This last time we ordered I gave the our 3 meals a quick check in the parking lot before heading home and it looked right, however the tacos have foil wrapped over the center of them. I get home and we unwrap our tacos to find they have no toppings on them at all. We now have 3 orders of just tortilla with meat on them, an hour round trip wasted.
We call and I ask to speak to a manager and they said the manager was too busy but they would relay my message and see what they would do. I explained the problem and even told them how far away we were. After the talk with the manager they offered us a $10dollar rebate or we could come and get the toppings for the tacos. So 10 dollar rebate for a ruined meal or drive another hour to get toppings for some nice cold tacos. I packed up everything and went back. I talked to the shift manager, who was pleasant and got a full refund.
I explained everything and told them about all our take out problems so they would be aware so they could potentially fix this for future customers. She took my number and assured me the manager would be calling me the next day to set things right, it’s been about 2 weeks and I never received any call. Read moreI’m usually honest with my reviews and I was let down to be honest. The service was not there. The employees have this kind of I don’t care attitude. They take long to come to the table to ask if you’re doing okay. (FYI we were here at 2:30 on a Saturday and there were only 4 tables with customers, so it wasn’t busy) The woman with the light brown-ginger like hair was not it. On to the food- the chips and salsa were a 5/10. The chips tasted like they were dipped in old oil to make them warm, and then you have the salsa. It was actually great. Then came the food. I had the steak quesadilla with a side of refried beans. My friend ordered the enchiladas supreme. The quesadilla was probably the best thing from everything we ordered and my friend agrees. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the onions were amazing. The quesadilla crust also had a perfect toast. The enchiladas were a major let down. The enchiladas were cold! Like it was cold inside. The rice, and meats were cold. They tasted like they were premade, the enchilada sauces, canned beans, dry chicken. It was terrible. When we told one of the “owners”, he said okay I’ll tell them and then see, and he never came back. My friend refused to send it beck because they don’t feel comfortable doing it, since the employees didn’t give off a friendly attitude. Then no one did anything and they gave us the check like they wanted us to leave. When we told them again about our experience, they took off 4 dollars. No apologies, no would you like to speak to the manager, nothing.
