On our way back from San Diego, my friends had a sudden craving for boba. They really like Boba Time and wanted us to give it a try - and we were able to make it before closing time by calling in our orders.
The drinks are decent - better than average but not the best boba I have had. I would say they are above Quickly quality but below Tbay and Half and Half quality. The plastic cups with the sealed containers don't add to anything either.
I ordered a large milk tea slush with boba which came out to be about $5. They only take credit cards on orders of $5 and up unfortunately, so our drink was short a few cents. Since the restaurant was closing, we ended up sitting outside on the patio where chairs and a large television is set up. The inside of the restaurant is very cute - reminiscent of those cute café shops, but I just feel like the quality of the cups bring down the whole ambiance, if that makes sense.
The milk tea slush was good - if you've tried Lollicup's (Diamond Jamboree) royal milk tea slush, I would have to say that I like Lollicup's a lot more. This drink had good consistency - not too icy, good amount of sweetness and really chewy boba (especially nearing closing time), but I thought there wasn't enough boba for my liking, especially since the drink was so expensive. There were random chunks of ice in the drink, but overall it was blended well and fulfilled my boba craving.
I don't think I'll ever purposely drive to Boba Time for boba when there are so many shops in the SGV, but if I'm in the area, I'll probably give them...

Café BT is my favorite cafe in a place that is filled with tea and coffee shops! What stands out to me about Café BT is that they have something for everyone. They offer a diverse range of seating that accommodates people who are here to catch up with their friends, to have a cute café date, or to have a study session. In addition, they have a large menu that ensures you will find what you are looking for. They have all the coffee classics, basic teas, milk teas, fruit slushes, and more! I loved their Affogato and strawberry yogurt slush. Some cafés specialize in drinks but Café BT has a solid food list as well. The waffles and shaved ice are what stand out to me! While Café BT is still very popular with the locals, it isn't like Summerfield or The Mugs that can get crowded with people from all over Orange County. While the indoor seating can get filled, I've never visited and been unable to find a seat. Café BT's drinks don't stand up to specialty coffee or tea places but they're still very good, and for the price and atmosphere that this place offers, Café BT is a hidden...

Itâs rare to find places with this much space; there are tables for both small groups and larger ones of up to 7â8 people, plus comfortable seating throughout. Thereâs even more seating outside, which has become popular now that the weatherâs warming upâperfect for soaking in some sun while you work or relax. They do serve food, though I didnât try any this time. I went for the passion fruit ade, and honestly, Iâd get it again. Though their boba seems popular. That one drink alone convinced me the rest of their drink menu is probably worth exploring.
Overall, itâs a great spot for productivity with a solid drink menu and food options if you need them. Service was quick, and Iâd give it a 4âmainly because I havenât sampled...
