Chubby Tea Rowland Heights :The milk tea in LA

This was an alright place for drinks. It was my first time there. I ordered a large peach strawberry tea. I usually avoid tea places that don't offer natural teas and only use syrup in their drinks, but I decided to try it here since they use cane sugar in their drinks ( they also have stevia option) . They didn't offer to let me know that I had the option to customize my drink ( my bad though since I should have also asked if they did that there) . My drink was too sweet. Son in guess g that was their regular way of making the that drink. I got asked if I had a rewards number with them, I said: " no, but can I sign up?" the guy at the counter said he would just take my order and suggested that next time to just download the app, I guess it was fine since I don't think I would be coming back here. Clean place though.

Tastea at Yes Plaza is pretty solid. It's a milk tea spot, so if you've been to one before, you kind of know what you're getting into. That said, they had a good mix of options from their milk teas, specialty drinks, slushes, smoothies, and some snack foods too. I grabbed a coffee latte, and my SO got a taro milk tea. We both went with large sizes and they were actually large, which made the price feel worth it. My SO asked for less sweetness and a different sweetener, and they were totally cool about it. No attitude, just made it how she wanted. The place had a decent amount of seating, and the fact that they’re open until 1am was a nice bonus. We hung out for a couple hours and had a good time. Drinks were good, chill spot, we’d come back if we’re around the area again.

Family nights at this place---which is open until midnight---are well deserved. Do try Bootea Shaker (no ones bootie used in the process) which is a mango, pineapple and black tea drink with jelly. Exceptional thing about this place is the positive vibe in customer service. The drinks our family tried were refreshing and post nourishment we rocked the photo booth with big cheeks full of tea. The crystal boba was chewy but not soggy and when you long to feel cool inside while heat rages outside, Tastea is the place.

As soon as I sat down on trendy and simple chairs the drinks were delivered in no time. Be prepared to hang out in a line that is 10-15 people deep, and many just pick up their orders then jet to another galaxy perhaps LOL. Tastea has three local establishments and has online ordering for now or order for later options (great feature) and immediate pickup.

Yummy and unorthodox beverage combinations here---if Hum and Drum were people they would not linger---as they offer avant-garde combinations like Bootea Shaker with Butt load of fries side and then an Ooh La La can be sampled for a truly randy beverage/snack mouth party. Happy green aesthetics keep you looking up and this place is great for groups or a single that needs to mingle. Tastea is a beverage oasis and they make you feel like a King/Queen/QueKin for around five dollars--what a deal! Tastea wins with its ambrosial like...

I had a 5-star review highlighting the fact that I was ecstatic to discover by accident that I no longer had to wait until I was all the way out in Garden Grove to get my share of God's Nectar (AKA Ooh-La-La), but now one aspect kinda made me rescind... Long story short: No more phone ordering, and don't expect your online order to go smoothly.

However, long story longer for those that are interested:

Even as a hard-core techie, the fact that one has to order on a VERY un-intuitive mobile website instead of phoning in the order is a HUGE turn-off, especially considering the website asks enough questions to make an FBI interrogator blush, it asks for your credit card # and doesn't offer a pay upon pickup option... Not to mention the app mentioned by the server isn't available in Android, only iOS.

Despite being a hurry, I pulled over and spent 5 minutes I didn't have to spend to order everything 15 minutes in advance instead of calling and driving at the same time, then spent another 15 minutes waiting in line, I was APPALLED that the order wasn't even PULLED when I arrived, and even when I got my order they forgot to add the boba (not even the black boba in lieu of green like a sign said at the register).

I'll gladly reconsider, remove this and re-add my 5-star review as if nothing happened if a simpler, more compatible online system is made, or if phone ordering is reinstated. This...

I think the offerings are okay, I'm pretty sure the taro is just a powder and tastes pretty artificial, and the service is quite bare minimum. We had 2 instances where our orders were messed up. The first time, my bf got a taro milk tea with regular honey boba but they gave him the egg pudding. I sacrificed my tiger milk tea boba because he's really not about the pudding. The pudding itself was clumpy and had a coagulated texture. I can't say I like it. Also, I used to order taro with egg pudding. This one really tasted off and bad. It clearly didn't go well. I say, don't order the pudding. The only thing I enjoy is the boba texture is the way I like it, it's got a bit of firmness, but not too soft. Second time, my friend got 75% sweet of a regular honeydew milk tea, but tasted no difference, it was still really sweet. To me, that just looked like they didn't read it, or just glanced quickly at the order. Even though the company offers less ice and sweetness levels, as well as a variety of toppings, that should mean that a thorough and quick read is a must-have skill. They weren't that busy when we went the second time, with plenty of tables to sit at. It does get extremely crowded at night though. Personally, I would check out another place, this one is average overall based...
