1st Review of 2015!!!! Woo Hooo!
Java Spice allows you to be as flavor adventurous as your little heart desires! There are some safe options such as fried rice and noodle and some more daring options like the weekend special which included Rice Wrapped in Banana Leaf with Spice Beef, Marinated Fried Chicken, Egg, Tofu, Jack Fruit Chili Sauce. The names were impossible for me to pronounce but the flavors were undeniable to resist.
I went here on a Saturday with my family, most of us have never tried Indonesian food before and this place seemed simple and sweet enough to try. The restaurant itself is a bit small and seems more like a fast-food joint than a sit down restaurant. We ended up getting the best of both worlds; food came out fast and also quality food.
We ordered a couple of different items so as to try a variety. I had the combination fried rice which came with both shrimp and chicken and a fried egg, we also got the flat noodles with shrimp, the fried noodles with bbq chicken, the fried rice with lamb, Rice Wrapped in Banana Leaf with Spice Beef, Marinated Fried Chicken, Egg, Tofu, Jack Fruit Chili Sauce, the bbq chicken with rice and some butter shrimp. It was a ton of food all with an exceptional degree of exciting flavors. The fried rice was perfectly spiced, not an overbearing spicy level yet the subtle burn with the after taste. I would of preferred the egg over easy but it was just as tasty fried. One of my favorite dishes was the bbq chicken. It was seasoned so well and all the juices made an excellent sauce for the rice.
Every dish we had we loved. Really couldn't complain about lack of seasoning or portion size. Its plenty and for a great price (about $8 per plate).

My 2 BFFs and I went there last Saturday for a lunch date.
We ordered: Ayam Kalasan (1/2 marinated chicken): Decent taste. Good portion. Tender and juicy, fall off the bone. It's pretty good but could be seasoned more.
Nasi Bungkus (rice with chicken, egg and some veggies cooked in coconut milk & various spices) : I didn't eat this, but my friend said it was pretty good. Mild and not spicy. Portion was big enough to be shared by 2 of them.
Kangkung Asap (water crescent veggy stir fried with shrimps and quail eggs): I don't like this veggy, but my friends loved it. They ordered this every time we went. Big portion as well.
Toge cah ikan asin (beansprout stir fry with salted fish): We all enjoyed this! Big portion. Barely any salted fish pieces in it.. only seen some tiny bits of them. Otherwise, it was yummy!
Ikan goreng sambel (whole fried tilapia with hot sauce): pretty good with decent size & taste. We enjoyed this plate of fish. Could be seasoned more.
Altogether, we spent about $120.00 ish.
This place was good for groups. There is plenty of free parking. They also sell good choices of Indonesian desserts & snacks. Service was okay. Well...

The Nasi Campur has steamed rice, fried chicken, spicy beef, egg and chose the coconut soup. This was a delicious spread with a tender chicken and creamy soup. The spicy beef is not too spicy and it pulls apart with ease in its own mouthwatering sauce. The Nasi Ayam Komplit has marinated fried chicken on rice with the chosen sour soup. The chicken is well seasoned, the flavor has soaked in and pairs well with the sate sauce. The sour soup has a nice sourness to it that makes it pleasant and refreshing. The Nasi Goreng combination was a nice plate of fried rice with chicken, shrimp, and egg. It is a well-cooked plate of fragrant fried rice with fried shallots and scallions; this is a good amount to share. The Sate Kambing was a lamb satay with peanut sauce, this was very juicy and the lamb was delicious skewered here. Service was very quick and patient...
