We were invited as part of their larger NFT program, which I cannot say enough that getting it is a no brainer, because who wouldn't want free tastings on these special openings and after words free discounts for life.
Yumiyaki is very similar to their other concept, which was Mikiya. Both have similar tiers and meat options. As this is the soft opening special event, the menu only had two options, which are the gold tier and diamond tier. Keeping in mind this may be subject to change once they officially open.
We opted for the diamond tier because we wanted to try out their specialty dishes and their best Japanese A5 ribeye. First off, this is different from your typical Shabu as they do a grilling presentation on the A5 Ribeye as it is cooked to perfection before they dip it into a small bowl with the egg wash. That came out amazing, and as you can expect, the meat was smooth and buttery and melted in your mouth. Afterward, they top off the pot with the broth so that it is now a shabu cooking experience.
The specialty dishes all came out looking amazing and tasted amazing as well. The only feedback I have is that all 4 specialty dishes are very similar in nature, so I hope they change it up a bit when they officially open. The reason is that 2/3 out of 4 of their specialty dishes seemed to have a combo of sorts of having wagyu and tuna tartare in it. That's why it all seemed too similar. Again, taste and looks were great.
Currently, there are no alcoholic beverages/options as their liquor license is still pending and maybe for about 3 months or so out. However, soda is self-serve, which had sprite, ginger ale, Fuze tea, I believe, Coke and Coke Zero. Also, a nice bonus was a self-serve black milk tea dispenser, which was cool. It wasn't too sweet, just right, which I really enjoyed. I do hope that they consider making 1 out of the 2 dispenser to be hot milk tea, as I think that would be fire.
They also had a self-service station for all your veggies and side dishes, which is more extensive than Mikiya. Similarly, they had the rice and wagyu mince meat station also with the same goma sauce and other condiment items.
Lastly, they have self-serve ice cream like Mikiya, which had 4 flavors of Vanilla, Strawberry, Mancha, and Coffee.
Our server Miya was amazing and very attentive. There was another gentleman who helped us, but I didn't get his name. Overall, they made sure we had plenty of food ready and the broth was always topped off. They process our NFT discounts with no issues, which is always a huge bonus.
Ambiance wise, very similar concept and design to Mikiya, nice and clean with comfortable seating. Keep in mind the restaurant isn't huge, and the largest table seats only 4 people, so bigger groups will need to sit at...
Read moreCame here to celebrate an anniversary on a Tuesday around 4pm and there was no wait. We had a reservation setup before, just in case. When we arrived there was another table and then us. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so I can see why the wait time can get long during prime meal times and weekends.
The side/vegetable bar and drink area was a bit cramped, and I'm so glad we went the time we did. I cannot imagine more than a couple of people comfortably in that area reaching around to grab food and drinks.
We chose the diamond tier and got sukiyaki as the base. We love getting sukiyaki because we get to dip meat into a beaten egg and it just makes the meats that much better. The meats were so silky and so tender in itself, but even more so being enveloped in egg. Each bite became a core memory, and I believe a few tears were shed. We enjoyed the meal so much we had to get a membership to come back.
The service and food were phenomenal. My boyfriend and I eat out a lot, and we both agreed Yumiyaki is probably one of the most memorable meals we've had this year thus far. Although not everything was to our liking, such as the uni toro or wagyu tartare dish or sashimi carpaccio (a personal preference), the amazing melt-in-your-mouth meats made up for it. We definitely think this place is worth it for the price, although we don't think we'd get the diamond tier again just because we don't personally care for premium options. Service was fast and very attentive. The only thing I could see being a bit annoying is the 90 minute time limit. When we were there, they were very strict with it and that's when it wasn't busy. But I also understand that the time limit is necessary during busy times, but also so that no one eats their...
Read moreThe very popular fancy wagyu Sukiyaki restaurant in the town. We come at 16:00 on a weekday as there is no waiting at that time. However I have heard of a long waiting time on weekends and holiday nights. The two options for AYCE varies from $78 and $88 as the ten dollars is worth choosing the premium option for the diamond with some special dishes. The uni Toro Bowl is a little small while the A5 Wagyu Trate with Caviar is great with raw beef and avocado. At the side bar, there are many veggie options including salads and the vegetables like cabbage, potatoes and seafood options like fish fillets and tiger shrimps. The drinking options are less including milk tea, hot tea and regular soft drink. Ones can diy a chopped beef over rice there.
Back to the seats, the staff cooked two slices of A5 Wagyu Beef Ribeye for both of us and then poured the Sukiyaki sauce and water into the pot. Pickup the Ribeye slice to our bowl of raw eggs. The journey starts!
We have AYCE options in four different Beef: A5 Chuck Roll is the best in my own perspective with a large slice cut. The A5 Wagyu Brisket is somehow higher in fat but melts in my mouth! A5 Wagyu Shoulder Cut has more lean and thin slices. Full Blood M9+ Chuck Roll is from Australia and tastes different from the previous ones.
For the sushi AYCE options, I think the Bluefin, Salmon and yellowtail are all right while The A5 Wagyu Nigri with Fioe Gras is somehow surprising!
For the ice-cream option, one should make scroop by oneself with the options from vanilla, matcha, coffee and strawberry. I love the strawberry one!
90 minutes of dinning time comes very fast! A wonderful dining...
