Kiwaz Caribbean Spice — Restaurant in Waltham

Good food but there's a short guy that works at the register that does things I don't like. This isn't a sit down restaurant, it's grab and go. On multiple occasions the small framed male worker at the register has done slimy things. When my bill would come up to $15, I'd pay with a $20 and he would act as though there's no change in his register to give the customer. It's ONLY him that does that and it annoys me especially since it's grab and go order with bad customer service (ONLY BECAUSE OF HIM). What truly aggrevated me is the fact that I called and made an order for my regular meal in the Am during another person's shift and everything was fine and I paid what I normally pay and that same day, I was driving with a friend and I told her about the decent food at kiwaz and had her put the phone on speaker to order. I had her order the exact same thing and the small framed male teller told her the price was $6 more and I truly believe he did so especially because she's American and unfamiliar. Hearing this I interrupted and took over the conversation because I was confused, especially having ordered the EXACT same thing hours ago, and asked why the price was inflated within a 4 hour span and the small, short framed duplicitous male started to stutter because he KNOWS hes doing something wrong. Long story short, the small framed, short male teller is scummy and ruins a decent restaurant with potential with his constant attempts to charge customers 20% extra and also acting as though there's no change, expecting, forcing you to leave an underserved tip. My annoyance stems from his constant lying and stealing. If I owned that business I would get rid of him because he is stealing from the business and the customers, giving the place a terrible atmosphere. It's only him that behaves this way and there's been soooo many times that it didn't sit well with me and I just accepted it but I've boiled over and had to share my thoughts. Moving forward, I'm not going back there until they replace him. There's another Haitian restaurant in Malden that I now would rather drive to and pay extra just not to deal with this sleazy short framed, frailed figured duplicitous male worker. I can't be the only one that's been annoyed by how this person is presenting the business. If you experienced something, please share so the management team can...

don’t know about the location in Waltham but the location in Lowell ohh man!! You guys can do better!! For a Haitian restaurant whoever is cooking back there replace him or her!!!! 1. Most of the food is disgusting 🤢 2. When you order a food you will never get your food complete something will always be missing or better yet you get a complete different food 3. If your Caribbean and your looking for Haitian I would say bring your expectations a little down otherwise you will be disappointed 😔!! Disappointed and Overpriced – Not Worth It

I can’t believe they charged me four dollars for a Jamaican patty — and it was a frozen one at that. Total rip-off. I also ordered the lunch special: chicken in sauce with rice. The rice was bland with barely any flavor, and the chicken was extremely salty. Honestly, it had an old, almost off taste.

I had a serious craving for Haitian food that day, and this was a major letdown. Looking back, I should’ve just made the drive to Boston....
