I have experienced one of the most horiific experiences once again at this Nifty Fifties location.
Six months ago I had an issue here. I was so excited to learn that we had a Nifty Fifties closer to where I currently live. I had placed an order for pick up, paid for it and picked up my food. Once I left one of the employees called my phone threatening me stating they would "call the police" because I never paid for my food when in all actuality i did pay but the restaurant charged me for the wrong order. As a result the owner did reach out to rectify the situation which I greatly appreciated. I was offered something however I kindly declined.
Today, six months later. I decided to give this location another try because everyone deserves a second chance right? But, I wholeheartedly regret it. I placed an order on door dash for pickup. I went to the Resturant to pick up the food that I ordered and already had paid for but the young lady at the register stated that my order wasn't there. Her manager Blair comes over and states that their system is saying the order has already been picked up by a man with the same name and the same phone number. I questioned the two ladies and asked them how is that so if I am Madisyn.... I also explain to her that there are many "Madison's" in the world and I spell my name with a Y not a O. I also asked them where is my food going, the employee at the register said it's probably going to my house. I told both the employee and the manager Blair that my order couldn't be going to my house because I ordered it for pickup. I asked the manager Blair if there was anything she could do about this and she stated I can go through DoorDash and request a refund or place the order again. I told Blair I would not like to place the order again because that means I would have to pay a second time for food. I explain to Blair that it's very frustrating from a customers perspective because I already paid for food and I never received the food, I then asked her if she would possibly be able to accommodate me by remaking the food. Blair stated that she can't just give out food because somebody already picked up my food. I was trying to show her my phone with the order information on DoorDash and she refused to look at it and I also did tell her that I could show her ID stating that I was Madisyn. Blair was very rude and nasty to me and was telling me to get out of her store. She also told me that there is nothing she could do to assist me. If you asked me that is poor customer service and I will not be returning to this racist location. The employees/managers cannot even take care of the customers who are of another race other than white and it's very sad and...
Read moreWas really excited to see they were building a new Nifty Fifty's in our area. Ever since the one in Bensalem went out of business, we have missed going there. Unfortunately it seems the space available didn't lend itself to a large seating area. So, it fills up quickly even at the off time when we went there was only one table. The milkshake was just as good as I remembered and my wife was happy they had the fountain sodas. In the past the sodas were brought to you, but this location smartly has a soda fountain wall. So, no more waiting around for a refill (unless there is a crowd at the fountain). However, my bacon cheeseburger was a bit overcooked and pricy but did not come with any of their deliciously seasoned fries. Fortunately, my wife shared some of her cheese fries and they were delicious. So, for nostalgia purposes it is nice to try. Go on an off time to avoid waiting forever. Don't go on a day with bad weather because there is hardly any waiting area. So, the line backs up out of the building quickly. We also tried take out on Saturday afternoon but their time prediction for when the food would be ready was way off and the separate door for take out is right next to the door for waiting to be seated. So, the rule of three's a crowd quickly became a dodging act of people standing awkwardly around three or four chairs provided, children running to the hall of vending toys, people trying to get to the bathroom, and other door dash type people also waiting to pick up food. Utter pandemoniun... So, maybe dont try to go on a Saturday unless the weather is nice and you can wait outside. Also, if you do get takeout, do check your order as my bacon cheeseburger was lacking bacon after waiting probably double the predicted time. Happy it is back in the area, but not so happy with the execution. It is new. So, hopefully things level...
Read moreIf I could give it a zero, I would. My husband and I stopped in to have a quick meal. 1)We walked in and were immediately hit with the unacceptable level of noise in the place. The wait person showed us to a small table for two right in front of the door and just over the wall from takeout. 2)Between the lousy table location and the noise, I asked if we could sit outside (much quieter). We'll, you have to do take-out to sit outside. So we did and asked the take-out order person about how long it might be. He stated about 10 minutes but he had our name and would announce it on the speakers outside. About 20 minutes later, my husband stops inside and our order is sitting on the counter. He stated to the person at the counter what the other person told us. The response was "the original person is away from the counter, I'm a replacement and the other guy didn't tell me about you." 3) We had ordered a diet cola and the machine was out of syrup so we discovered that it was mostly seltzer with coloring. 4) I ordered a mushroom Swiss cheesesteak and after unwrapping it outside, I discovered that it had no cheese on it. None. My husband's fish sandwich was just OK. In conclusion, it was an, all around lousy experience. If you want to go there, be prepared to lose your hearing; I am sorry that we selected this place. we will not ever be returning. Bummer...
