This place was absolutely horrendous. Me and my dad went there and paid $20 just to sample everything.
With the exception of the plain-tasting grilled chicken and overpowerful ginger chicken, all of the meat was dry to the point it wasn't the origional color and became chewy the including the meat summerged in sauce. I didn't see any fresh food put out in the half hour we were there. I was so hopeful for Mongolian chicken (dead mission.) The teryaki chicken was made like general tsos and not on a skewer. Some of the food was clearly burnt from being in the buffet warmers. There is no telling if it was even made that day.
Nothing tasted good. The eggrolls had corn which wouldn't be entirely awful of they were actually packed with cabbage. Potatoes had potential other than being mushy. I'm not sure if the steamed broccoli was mislabled grilled; but there was a char to it so I hope that was the case. The dumplings were fried like pot stickers, which isn't wrong however there was no boiled wet option. the sweet and sour chicken was so dried you couldn't pick up a piece without the tinged deep brown bottom flaking off. Do not dare try the chicken meatball! The ONLY hot item was the wonton soup.
Deserts are worse than the entrees. The cheesecake was curdled and warm on a base dried of dry, dry spongecake. The donut was dry and greasy at the same time and for some reason had low level of sugar deposited. Didn't bother with the one working icecrem machine: I had had enough. Half of the bar looked pudding based, which by the temperature of the cheesecake is a no-go. There were some butter cookies that appeared from a package and that very possibly could have been the best item.
The fruit/veggie bar didn't even redeem it The broccoli salad was doused so hard that you couldn't taste the broccoli, the melon was pale, there were fresh bananas sitting in strawberry syrup. And canned peaches and Mandarin oranges were in the same bowl. They did try a lot of creative dishes but the actual content of diverse veggies as they come was low. The lettuce looked fresh and crisp and of the correct color.
Thank God I am allergic to shellfish or I would have tried that sushi for value first - which noone was eating and who knows how long that was made. (Usually buffets like that will make premium items fresh.)
The lomein had poor flavor. I didn't try the rice but if you looked at it, you would not either. The American-styled food may have done you one better but, the world may never know.
To my surprise, there were people eating plates and plates of that garbage. I left so hungry, but unable to eat anywhere because of how sick it made me. Save yourself the frustration. There was an awful after taste and it turned my gut.
On top of that I ordered water and the cup was clearly dirty. My dad ordered soda which he says tasted like carbonated water with a dash of flavor. But at least there was a straw. The booths are way too close together. I'm a regular sized lady with extra weight as most people come, but it was like playing Tetris to get into the seat and getting out the seat was harder.
This is Warner Robins' worst. Feel bad writing this because people: rely on this for a job, or cook, or own the place. However, I am partitioning you not to spend your dollars here. It would be beyond wrong of me not to warm you.
I thought I had no future with the fortune cookie but the message and numbers are printed on the same side. One positive the fountain was pretty and I guess the location. I'm still not a fan of that tight parking lot with a lot of blind corners each time you pull forward from any...
Read moreThey are newly-opened so want I to give them some time and will revisit again in a few months after they have had time to get in their groove and gel as a staff and business.
Having said that, I must be honest in my opinion.
I drove by the store between 7:30 and 8 p.m. cars were wrapped around the building, there were people going inside to order take out as well as sit down in the small seating areas both inside and out. The cars appeared to move quickly and from what I could see through the windows the staff moved and worked efficiently and cooperatively.
I came back to the restaurant between 8:30 and 9 p.m. using the drive thru. I was the third car in line. As I waited to order three more cars pulled in behind me. The menu offered many popular Japanese and Chinese dishes, it was extremely easy to read and navigate! The staff were friendly and helpful answering questions about menu items and did not rush you. The wait time to get to the window was under 5 minutes, the staff member working the window was friendly, the process for using a credit to pay was a little clunky as you had to sign a receipt although there is a large chain restaurant in town and their drive-thru does the same thing.
I was asked to pull forward into a parking spot in front of the store so they could continue taking orders and assisting others behind me which showed efficient drive thru courtesy, management and, customer service. The wait time was under 5 minutes and the employee delivered the food in one stacked and tied bag. The aromas coming from the bag were pleasant and spot on.
I had ordered General Tso's chicken, fried dumplings, crab cheese puffs and, two vegetable spring rolls for my wife and I.
Upon getting home the packaging was intact and the temperatures were hot and correct.
The fried dumplings where over fried and the dipping sauce was watery, smelled and tasted strongly of garlic overpowering the typical Asian flavors.
The cheese wontons were fried perfectly, the cream cheese consistency was nice, they had strong onion flavors that overpowered taste buds to the point my wife was not able to eat more than one. The warmed sweet and sour sauce was thin and watery.
The vegetable spring rolls wrapper had a nice toothy resistance but the vegetables on the inside were mushy and flavorless. There was no duck sauce provided so used the sweet and sour sauce.
The General Tso's chicken appeared to have been pre-cooked and then placed in the container with sauce ladled over it as several of the pieces of chicken had no sauce at all. The chicken pieces were inconsistent in size with many smaller than 1/2 inch making them overcooked and hard. The larger pieces of chicken were nicely cooked however again not combined with sauce. The fried rice was combined with small bits of egg and vey flavorful.
Overall, my experience was mixed with some high points and low points as explained above. I am optimistic and hoping the flavors and consistencies improve with time and will be giving them another try in a few months.
My taste buds and preferences are my own and I am not a Critic...
Read moreFood was great. I got a chance to pick my own selection and had it cooked before me. The young man fixed my food very well. Wow! I had an examplary waitress. She was attentive and very hard working. I wished I could take her home with me. I had to tell the manager, as I came in - I can't keep to his "2hour maximum eating time rule." I am not a fast eater. And I want to rest in between plates. You go to a buffet, you don't want to be put on a timer! My God! No. I have acid reflux. I must take my time or end up possibly chocking. I hope Hibachi removes that "maximum time" policy. On a previous visit, the manager actually had the waiter to take away my utensils. I got back to the table with my plate of food. And there was no fork or spoon to eat. When I inquired, the manager said I had been there for more than 2 hours; no more food. He shamed me in the presence of other guests. He was not even quiet about it. I felt so much shame, to be told I was at my table for too long. I defended my rights to remain and finish my plate, but I felt such shame that I did not even touch the food and I left the full plate. As a Black woman of 21_ lbs, being shamed in the presence of White and Hispanic guests - I felt such shame. That whole Denny's Lunch Counter discrimination act came to mind. Wow! I told my son I'd never go back, but that's my son's favorite place. He loves the selections. I do too 🤗 I wish Blacks and Hispanics would hire workers that has had the training and experience working as cooks and chefs at Chinese restaurants and open international varieties buffet bars - in New York, Georgia, Chicago, and North Carolina. And then expand across the nation and around the world. What one person cannot accomplish alone, as a conglomerate, corporately - we can. Please post your experience about The Hibachi Restaurant in Warner Robins... good, bad, or not too bad. God...
