I made the biggest mistake of misinterpreting which restaurant I was told to go to. Never again. PLEASE GO TO ISLAND POT I didn't have a problem with the service unlike some other reviewers until my mother called back up to inquire about how the food tasted. Every meat tasted the same, from the brown stew chicken, to the jerked chicken, to the oxtails, and the gravy was extremely watered down. The Cabbage was hard and crunchy, not tender, the plantains were burned, and the rice and peas had leftover aromatic branches left in it. Maybe they were just having an off day, but considering I went in during peak lunch hours and then food was still as such, leads me to believe that the quality of the food is constant no matter what time of day you go. As a chef myself I was exceptionally disappointed with the seasonings, as Jamaican cuisine is usually known for its bold and spicy flavors and everything I had was extremely lacking. Edit: I definitely see where people say that the people who run this establishment have a terrible attitude. My mother posted about our experience in the Warner Robins calling you out thread on Facebook, and who I'm assuming is the owner, or someone associated with the owner replied, and has since deleted their messages after she presented a photo comparison between their food, and food from previously visited Jamaican restaurants. Attached is their messages

Love this place. If its your first time trying Jamaican food, definitely give this place a try. Their food is so good, and all of the meat I've tried has always been so tender. Their jerk chicken is super good. & I love it that they actually make it spicy. I normally order the oxtail with Mac & cheese & rice. However, they were out of mac & cheese that day so I asked for cabbage instead. Luckily, the cabbage actually had flavor to it bc they steamed it with some carrots & etc. I might actually keep getting the cabbage next time instead of Mac & cheese.

Got jerk chicken with rice and peas and mac and cheese with curry gravy on my food.... it was delicious. Got another plate of jerk chicken with rasta pasta, rice and peas and oxtail gravy... it was delicious but spicy. Only downside is that the rice and peas was lacking, it just was not that good of a rice and peas I was hoping for. Got there around 2pm after the lunch rush and my food was not warm, luckily we got it to go so we just reheated at home.

Wish I could give them a zero. The staff is very unprofessional and rude. I commented on their business Facebook page and the daughter was going kindergarten on my and the mom followed right behind by calling me through messenger. Instead of apologizing and trying to right my concern. They did the opposite, attack mode. I ordered large oxtail mixed rices and peas, which was hard and crusty, like edge rice. Lol! And they may have used par boiled rice yuk, and something was so foul smelling the plantains had a sour taste. That was my first Jaimacan plate that went unfinished. If you settle for that, you'll settle for anything. If you want professional staff and great food, I will suggest a place in Macon call J&F off of Mercer. You will not regret it. Jamaican No Flava is A NO for me. And if in case any on you dare, try to deny your remedial and petty actions, I will provides screen shots.

Part 2

I gave them another shot 5/2021 Humiliation and the highest unprofessionalism that I've ever experienced. Shout out to JF in Macon and Island Pot where you get excellent service with your order and respect. Now I'm going to take the advice of serveral business aquintances and let it go. I'm going to hold on to my receipts and pics. Never know never know

Part 3 There have been some improvements. Order oxtails yesterday no grease and they were actually good. However I asked for curry gravy on the rice and peas and got hard uncooked potatoes and carrots. The meat was more tender than the veggies. I tried to call back and catch em in time but, they wouldn't answer.

Part 4 Like I said, I tried calling back several times no one picked up. Also before I made the order by door dash I called the nice lady who took my request. That fact I still support you guys again plainly doesn't say I'm trying to sabotage your establishment. I mentioned, there has been improvements. This is what I will do for you. I will give a star for the improvement. But still, you should work on how to recieve constructive criticism. Overall the food was decent. It was just the raw veggies in the curry gravy. Also the price...

Rude and condescending I understand you're upset, but I assure you that my intention was never to scam or take advantage. I only reached out because I had an issue with my meal; I informed your husband of this, and we agreed on a replacement for that meal, which I no longer wanted out of fear it, too, would be nasty. When I returned, he would see me coming, and go into the kitchen, so he knew. I wanted to bring it to your attention as to how nasty the fish was because you're the cook. You can see I patronized the business from the pictures; the charge with the dot is the nasty fish meal. As I told you, it tasted like water; surely there has been a decline in business as the prices were increased without notice and in the middle of the year. The authentic flavor is gone. You've stopped putting Jamaican spices in the food, yet you have raised the prices; now, who's the scammer? However, I don't...
