This is a difficult review to write, such is the depth of my disappointment. I've been a loyal Home Depot shopper everywhere that I've lived. Ten years ago, I made a purchase of a washer & dryer from Home Depot that went very well. So when my wife & I moved to Warner Robins a few weeks ago, we needed a washer and dryer for our apartment, and Home Depot was the obvious place to go to obtain them. The purchase at the appliance desk went well, the employees were cheery and helpful. Then, a week later on the delivery date, the trouble began. The third-party contractors who showed up to deliver and install the appliances tried to fit an aluminum tube on the dryer duct that didn't fit; and they proceeded to mangle both ends of the tube trying to force it to fit. As it was the only thing they had, they couldn't install the dryer, so they told me I needed to get an adapter and I had to reschedule the installation. I returned to Home Depot, and the employee at the appliance desk was absolutely no help. She had no idea what kind of adapter I would need, repeatedly telling me "I am not a plumber" and couldn't find anybody else at the store who could tell me anything. She then was unable to even reschedule anything, so I left. I had to call the corporate help line, sit on hold for almost an hour on the first call; and after explaining the situation to the first operator who answered, the help line hung up on me while I was back on hold. On the second call immediately after, the operator actually listened when I vented all my frustrations and was promised a positive resolution and that the contractor would be contacting me to reschedule the installation. Shortly after, the maintenance supervisor at our apartment looked at the tube the installers had tried to put on the dryer duct and was shocked. Turns out that it's made for an oven chimney, not for dryer vents; so there was no way it was going to fit or work properly. When I didn't hear back from anyone, I called the Home Depot corporate line to cancel everything, which I fortunately was able to get a full refund on. Two days later, I went to Best Buy, made the purchase and 4 days later, the Geek Squad showed up to deliver and install the appliances. So again, I'm writing this review to express my deep disappointment in Home Depot after years of being a faithful customer everywhere else that I've lived. We will not be returning to this store while we live in Warner Robins. Maybe one day, we'll be Home Depot customers again; but it won't be at this one. This store failed us, badly, and we will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWarner Robins, Georgia Ordered a new dryer a week ago and paid for it in full on a bank debit card. I'm paying down my Home Depot card so I didn't want to use it. We wait a week for delivery, and in the meantime we buy the accessories we need that the instructions tell us - flex vent pipe and new electric cord. Nothing about what the installer will or will not do except not putting it on a pedastal that didn't come with it. Delivery to be between 12 and 4 today and they needed room to get the old dryer out and install the new one. They arrived at 11:15. Long story short, they can't do this and they can't do that and the delivery installers simply get on their truck and drive off, no information as to what they were doing, they just closed the back door of the truck and drove off. And wouldn't answer their phone. The last we heard from them was that they would hook up the dryer but couldn't do the steam part. Then they just left without doing anything at all.
Call Home Depot. It rang 50 times and finally someone picks up, "listens" to me explain while they are talking to someone else, puts me on hold, it rang 30 times and then it hung up on me. We got in our truck and came to the store. They found the dryer we wanted in the back. An hour or two later, it's at the front door to take with us, no discount offered for our trouble, and they can't simply use what I paid already as payment for this but I'm having to use my Home Depot credit card (they have had my money for a week and the refund will take 72 hours) - so screw my credit score - Bill from appliances tried to tell me I got 12 months same as cash so it doesn't really affect my credit - SMH - Really, Bill? Talk down to lady customers much? Tried to tell me my home warranty isn't as good as their warranty. I explained that I have one I paid for up front for 6 years, and if they can't fix it for a $45 service charge they will replace it. He's sure I'm wrong and that I'll change my mind that theirs is better. Again, talk down to lady customers much?
A bad experience from start to finish. Thank you, Jennifer, the Store Manager for trying to work it out, but I think our time is worth something. None of this mess was caused by us, but who has paid for it? H/D got their money, delivery guys got to knock off very early on a Friday and do no work for their pay, and we get to install our dryer all by ourselves. Hooray! Not interested in renewing...

Over the course of the past two days, weāve had our smoke alarms going off intermittently. Historically, the annoying chirp indicates that a battery change is necessary. So, in usual fashion, we purchased new batteries and installed them...in all except for one. One rests at 20ft approximately, and we are, as it turns out, afraid of heights(smh).
Fast forward to today...I was working on an airplane with my friend Kenneth Howes. When we were finished and on our way home, Iād called Bonnie to see what was happening at home. Apparently sheād gone to Home Depot, begging for assistance from anyone whoād listened. Finally, sheād hunted down an assistant manager named Conrad Garner.
Iād arrived home to find that my wife had coaxed Conrad into coming to our home to see if he might be of some assistance. I was apoplectic. Iād felt angry; why bother this guy? Its Saturday, heād just gotten off of work...I know how he feels, trust me. But maybe I donāt š.
He arrives, and goes about checking every single alarm in my home, and yes, including the 20 footer. Heād showed us that the expiration date on the alarms was over 3 years ago! He then tried to call the alarm companyās customer service to see if there was anything that could be done, other than replacement.
This young man is very impressive, and in so many ways. Home Depot is very lucky to him. So, this is why, for better or for worse, Iāll not shop hardware anywhere except Home...
