I went here tonight to celebrate my anniversary early and this was my first time ever coming here. We got seated fairly quickly and had someone come up to our table. She never introduced herself or told us she’d be waiting on us tonight. She asked “what do you want to drink” and we gave our drink orders and then I mentioned I’d also like a margarita. I shuffled through the menu looking confused trying to find the alcoholic drink menu (I’ve never been here before) and she never told me where it was but instead walked away after looking annoyed. Then, came back moments later just standing there looking like she didn’t want to be there at all and then I told her what I’d like and went to show her my ID which she never actually looked at or asked for (I literally get ID’d everywhere I go). She brought back drinks and walked off. Never brought or mentioned chips and salsa and we eventually asked for some. She took our orders. I asked a simple question which was “I noticed some burritos mentioned the option of coming with rice and beans on the menu. Do all of them?”. To which she replied rudely (her tone), “I need to know what you want first before I can answer that. Which one do you want?”. I just ordered something quickly after this that I knew I’d like and didn’t try any of the burritos. We got our food pretty quickly. During the duration of our meal which lasted about 40min from start to finish neither of us had our drinks refilled a single time. She asked how our food was after we got it and then never came back to the table. We had to ask the hostess if we could get our check and then our waitress finally returned with it. My partner was saying he was about to go up there and ask again when she was walking up behind him as he said this. Then, she looked at him set the check down and said, “Ta-Dah!”, very rudely and walked away before we could hand her our card. Never once did she ask if we needed boxes, more drinks, or another alcoholic drink on top of the rude tone, expressionless face, and never once smiling or being kind the entire time. Honestly by far the worst and rudest service I’ve ever had!!! Not a great start to our anniversary celebration… food was great but this waitress made the experience awful and not even worth it. Probably won’t be coming back which is unfortunate because the inside of this place was beautiful and the...
Read moreMy kids and I came here because Casa II was being overrun by hungry people. I'm glad we did. It was a Thursday night and, originally, there was going to be a 15 minute wait for the three of us. A high top came open very quickly and nobody else wanted it, so I jumped on the opportunity. Kids love to see the world from above. They're like cats. At this point, I discovered the only problem I had on this visit: In a successful effort to create a nice, relaxed atmosphere perfect for, well, sipping margaritas and unwinding after most of a stressful week, Margaritas was a little too dark for me to read the menu. It's partially my fault, though, because I didn't bring my reading glasses. I never do, because it's rarely that dark in a Mexican restaurant. Maybe it was just where we were sitting--in the bar area. There didn't appear to be a kid's menu, but I'm not going to complain about that. I didn't come to a Mexican restaurant for my kids to eat hamburgers and chicken fingers. We pieced together meals for the kids, a burrito and beans for one, a taco and beans for the other. Our server, whose name I missed, (kinda tall, light blonde young lady) was awesome at adapting to our needs, despite the fact that she was visibly overwhelmed by covering two sections that were pretty far apart. I ordered an Enchiladas Rancheras. Everything came out pretty timely. Everything was quite amazing. This was the first time I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant and didn't order by a number or letter. They don't have that option, here. Perhaps, I should order off the specialties menu more often, because my enchilada was glorious. My son thought his burrito was the most amazing thing ever. My draft Modelo made me very happy, too. It was a little pricier than what I'm used to from a Mexican restaurant, but I believe you usually get what you pay for. And Margaritas is an excellent place to eat and chill out. The atmosphere was very relaxing.
Oh, snap! I almost forgot about the salsa! The. Best. Salsa. Ever. If nothing else, just go for the chips and salsa. It was so good, we went through three baskets of chips, God forgive us for our gluttony.
Yeah. We'll be back. And I'll bring my glasses so I can try something else...
Read moreWe have visited the particular Mexican restaurant on hwy 96. It goes from need improvement to worse. Hate to say that. As Latinos, we definitely want to support other Latino businesses. The first time we went we invited my in laws. My mother in law who ran a restaurant in Texas with her dad was not impressed by the food at all. The second time, I did not enjoy the food and the service was ok ( room for improvement) on both occasion. The second time was to celebrate my husband’s birthday and he wanted to give them, this place another try. Well, the waitress clothing was dirty. They were short of workers. This was in September 2022. The host was doing her best but the workers she had were lacking. The food was better that day. The young man cleaning the tables nearby seemed he did not want to be there. Our waitress was okay. She was handling other tables and seemed exhausted. Here is what happened. My husband had his eye glasses in his hand as we were leaving. Although, our waitress did not earn her tip the way she was carrying food and drinks ( needed major training), we still left her a generous tip which we practice everywhere we go. When we left the restaurant, just seconds later, my husband noticed his expensive eye glasses was no longer in his hand so I mentioned, we had pause to make sure the tip was indicated on the bill. We were sure the eye glasses were on the table. We went inside and the hostess, the waitress and the cleaning boy knew nothing about the glasses. We checked the whole area and nothing. VERY SHADY AND UNTRUTHFUL PLACE. Integrity is lacking in those workers. We are telling our friends and family about our experience. We left our names and contact number and no one has called. We have called and unfortunately, they still are saying no glasses were found. We had checked everywhere inside and out. It’s a shame that among them there is theft and they think nothing of it. We go to the Cavillo on Russell pkwy. There is never an issue there. The treatment, service and food are unbeatable. We will go no where else for now on concerning...
