Did not create cake that was specifically ordered

Since I don't receive a response yesterday, I have decided to file an official complaint via this page. We were looking to order a King cake for my daughter's birthday. After calling at least 8 places, only 2 stated that they made them,Ā your business and Decadent. Trying to find the best cost,Ā I called Decadent again on 1/19 who then advised what they had was a regular cake with King cake decorations, at which time I thanked them but explained that wasn't what we were interested in. Directly after that at 11:14am on the above mentioned date I called back to your establishment. I don't recall the young lady's name I spoke to.. not sure she ever said it. During this conversation,Ā MULTIPLE times I explained what we were interested in and even discussing the previous call to Decadent. To confirm she understood I asked if she was familiar at which point SHE said "Yes,Ā the Cinnamon streusel in a ring shape." And we even discussed including the baby. I had even asked for pictures but was advised there were none available. Living in Macon, I asked my daughter to pick up the cake for convenience since I wouldn't be in Warner Robins until today. When she picked it up (and yes she did sign for it, thinking the misunderstanding was on my part)Ā she called me from the parking lot to let me know. Needless to say,Ā I was very upset because this was discussed in great detail during the ordering process. My daughter, at that point, tried to return the cake because it was NOT what I paid for, only to be told there were no returns or refunds. At this point I called and spoke to another young lady who said she was the person in charge who told me I was the one who made the error and no one in the store would have told me it was an authentic King cake.Ā Also, to let you know,Ā her attitude was very disrespectful.. at one point I said original King cake and she smarted off and said "Well it IS an original" when clearly I had meant authentic. At one point she said it was round and that's what they meant.. then she had the nerve to say they could cut out the middle to make it a ring shape! At this point since no one responded back within the 4 hours between my call and business closing, we have been left with no other choice but to use the cake we were given, being that I ordered well in advance to ensure it was ready for today. There was no way to correct it even by trying to locate someone else. I'm reaching out to request some sort of compensation.. since we have to keep the cake possibly a 50% refund since this is clearly not what was ordered or expected. The young lady I spoke with on 1/23 said the audio could be pulled for the date of the order to confirm what was said by your employee on 1/19 and I sincerely suggest you review. I will be saving a copy of this request in case needed for future purposes.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI may have to take my business somewhere else after my experience yesterday. I love to buy my friends cupcakes as birthday presents or just simple gifts. Yesterday I went in to buy three cupcakes that I wanted boxed separately, and they tell me they were going to have charge me a $.75 "box" fee. Now I have been buying cupcakes there for a while now and never have I heard such a thing. This really infuriates me. The cupcakes are expensive enough but NOW I can't even get them boxed separately without being nickle and dimed!!! By the way, there was NO sign that I could tell, warning people of this. Had I come three separate times I would have been able to get my cupcakes without the box fee!!!! But because I ordered them all at one time I get penalized!!!? Then worst of all was the response I got when I inquired about the reason. He says something about having to go "out of his way" to separate the cupcakes!! Really!!!!? This is your job!!!! Its not like I ordered 20 cupcakes!!!! And I feel even if I had, I should be able to have them separated for the ridiculous amount of money I have to spend on them!! He offered no suggestions and was not helpful at all. I came in at about 6:15 pm . The first thing he says is that you will not be able to get it tonight. Who places a custom order late at night for the same day? I never told him I needed it for tonight. He was assuming my response without asking questions. I asked about types of custom birthday displays, he responds it depends on how intricate you want it. Never offered suggestions or show pictures, etc. I was like I will just take my business else where. Being in the field of customer service myself, I would never treat a customer this way. The customer is always first priority. I didnāt feel this person cared about my needs as a customer. Even though my husband had a similar experience, I decided to give this location a try due to the convenience. This was the final draw. I will just go elsewhere because customer service is very important to where I choose to spend my money.
