I pulled into this location at 3:30 pm today.....drove into Booth#22. After a couple of minutes, the voice came over and asked for my order. I thought everything was fine as they even confirmed my order and told me what it would cost. About 5 minutes later, a lady came out only to stop at a table and call for her ride. I sensed that they were shorthanded, as the SUV a couple of booths over had been visited three times. About 15 minutes of sitting, no further interaction with any employee, the lady with the phone came out again. She seemed bent on getting away and thar was fine. But just then, I saw another vehicle arrive. A couple of minutes after, I heard their order being taken. I continued to sit. Not five minutes later, I saw the lady who had visited the SUV more than twice emerge with a tray. I thought, here comes my food. But the lady bypassed me and went over to the vehicle that had only been there a few minutes. I pushed the button again, as nothing pertaining to my order was on the screen. They didn't answer and, at 3:52 pm, I backed out and drove off.
I didn't spend anything and I'm not even sure my order was actually taken. I just don't appreciate being made to sit without any explanation whatsoever. Each of the employees there during this time need to be at least reprimanded. No, I'm no customer service "expert," but I do know this is not the way any patron...

I'm so addicted, ill even put up with the hassle I inevitably incounter at Sonic. My drink order may have the wrong flavor, equipment might be down. They always run out of a particular menu item. The website unlocks discounts but often I'm told its down- no 50% off slushies 2-4pm-their slow time.
When ordering with staff, since most are newbies its not ununcommon to be handed the wrong type of snack in the same price point offerings. I just love the new Bacon cheese wrap for $2.99. But Sonic’s drinks keep me coming back. I'm trying to order by the app or at odd hours when drinks prices are 50% off.
A big problem for Sonic is turnover. The Starlings are just not familiar with the intricacies of the menu. Rarely does staff smile, but do carry a disturbed look on their face that shouts: I-can't-wait-till-my-shift-is-over.
They need to pay workers more. Worker productivity would rise. Smiles may return, customers may have a cheerful (at least not datk) experience and want to come back.
Customers who now don't frequent the establishment- may stand in line once they taste a specialty drink from Sonic! And new food items too. In the end I perservere patiently and can get the correct...
Read moreUpdate, 7/30/25. A LOT of improvement at this location. The young girls that have taken my order and brought my food are very nice and actually smile! The food has also improved. GOOD JOB, SONIC for changing up the crew or their attitudes, either or. I am pretty sure these young ladies were taught well at home.
I have no idea what is going on with this Sonic location, Margie Dr in Centerville, but the last 3 visit were something left to be desired. Wrong orders given, food over cooked and cold, items left out of orders, and nothing but kids running the place that lack good, customer service skills. I actually deleted the Sonic app today from my phone. After 3 problem visits, I am not sure I will be going back which is a shame, because I liked Sonic. Maybe it's just the location closest to me on Margie Dr. in Centerville. UPDATE Sept 2022 I went for a shake, and things seemed to have changed so I went back another day to order food. My last two visits were MUCH BETTER! I'm not sure if this young lady was the new manager, but she was so sweet. I have received more respect from the young adults, my orders were fresh and correct.
