Upon visiting Pita Mediterranean today (3/16/24) at approximately 6:30pm, we ordered 4 adult meals and a kids chicken tenders meal for my niece($8.50). However, upon receiving them, we immediately noticed they were hard and burnt, making them difficult to pull apart. When we brought this concern to the attention of the employee, they asserted that the tenders were cooked according to their standard process, cooking them for 8 minutes to avoid undercooking. Despite our dissatisfaction, the employee continued to defend their process and argue that the chicken was cooked fine, even comparing the dish to the menu picture, which did not accurately reflect the quality we received. When we asked for a refund, she continued repeating herself about their process. We asked for her name, but she would never tell us. After the female employee, who just wanted to argue walked away into the back, another female employee approached us with a look of annoyance. She proceeded to make a phone call to someone about giving us a refund. While she was as one the phone in front of us, I tried to ask her her if she was speaking with a manager or the owner on the phone, she rudely stated she was on the phone with a manager. Despite our request for a refund, we were met with resistance and were never given any apology from anyone or any form of sincerity. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we have decided not to return to this establishment in the future. Will be contacting corporate in regards to the way the employees handled this situation with such rude and argumentative attitudes.

In addition to four adult meals, my group ordered a kids chicken tender meal. The order took a while to prepare which was fine. The kids meal was last to arrive. After I realized the 5 year old wasn’t eating the chicken, I tried one and confirmed they were dry and overcooked. I went to the counter and waited for the girl that appeared to be in charge. I expressed they were overcooked and dry and she said they have to cook them for 8 minutes or they could be raw. She said no one else has complained about how they were cooked and I was the first one to bring it up. I asked her if they look like the photo on the order wall and she said yes many times and wanted to keep arguing. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Instead of hearing and seeing my concern and handling it in a professional manner, she just wanted to argue about it. After way too much discussion of how she must cook two chicken tenders, I finally got the point across that I just wanted a refund. I eventually received the refund after a different employee called a manager on the phone. Although the adults enjoyed their food, the terrible service from this employee is the reason for the low rating. To management- If customers can’t speak with an employee about a legitimate concern without a verbal battle that they’re wrong, you should expect to lose repeat customers.

PITA is a modern, fast casual restaurant offering tasty eats that stand right on the border of Greek and Lebanese food. They have a small but impressively comprehensive menu which covers all the Mediterranean must-haves, including schwarma, kabob, falafels, hummus and baba ganouche. They offer lamb, chicken, beef and salmon for proteins and they have both Greek salad and grilled veggies. Prices range from just under $10 for a pita sandwich or bowl to about $15 for a platter, which is enough to absolutely stuff a grown man like me. My favorite part were the spicy falafels, which were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I really appreciated how everything on my platter was seasoned to perfection. The lamb and chicken were cooked in shatta, a spicy herb sauce, and the plate was accented with what I believe was a yogurt tahini sauce. The dressing for my salad was tangy and herbaceous. Everything was very fresh. Seeing that I was a new customer, the owner dropped by my table to see what I thought. She clearly cares about her customers and her dedication shows in the quality of her food. My first dining experience at PITA left me feeling like I just found my new favorite restaurant in town. If you are looking for something on the healthier side of delicious check this place out.

My experience was related to the customer service cashier that assisted me. The food was great; however, I started a vegan diet today & went in to order my food within the last 2hrs. I used the menu to discuss options with the cashier & decided on a couple of items to order, one of which was a side of grilled vegetables. After deciding not to add onions to the 2 grilled veggies, we proceeded with the order. Long story short, I got home & found no grilled veggies. I called the restaurant because I didn’t keep my receipt, so wasn’t able to verify if I had been charged for the veggies or not. The cashier remembered me &, after giving the name the order was in, she pulled up my receipt. Instead of just saying that she either forgot to ring them or misunderstood what the final decision was, she told me that I’d decided against ordering that side. I know what I ordered, but I understand that sometimes orders can be confusing to the person taking the order. I told her that she must have forgotten to add them; that I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t charged for them. The cashier disagreed and told me that I just didn’t order that side. I politely told her that we (she & I) both agreed with ordering the veggies as they came, without adding the onions & that I felt it is very unprofessional to respond the way she was. She still proceeded to make a case that I confused her with my order of side rice, etc., and so on. I do believe she was confused, though I didn’t know that at the time. She also said that I should have caught it when she read my order back. When I said "and veggies," she responded "without the onions," during her read-back, so I thought we were good. From a customer & professional standpoint, she should have just said the receipt didn't show that I was charged for the veggies, apologized for the mix up, & not proceed to try to convince me that I didn't order the veggies. All I needed to know was that the veggies were accidently left off, regardless of the reason, but I was not charged for them. She made the whole prior experience awful by her unnecessary argumentative (more debating) spirit on that simple call. The call ended with her pretty-much saying something like ok and have a good day. I attempted to do the review on my phone, but my fat fingers posted before I could finish or proofread! I was not aware of how to remove the first, so I reposted. I posted because I feel that the cashier was unnecessarily offensive and I assumed she didn’t know any better since she kept the conversation going trying to get me to say I did not order the veggies and she remained normal toned, though a little “niasty” (nice, but nasty). It seems she needs education on what to and not to say to customers, to prevent this from occurring with anyone else. I just don’t think she understands that it is not always necessary with customers, especially with something this simple, to force an explanation or point. Mistakes are unavoidable, I would have felt great about the experience with a simple warm apology and polite advice to prevent future occurrences.

Dora Torres GM, thank you for your reply. I am changing my rating to match the actual overall atmosphere and location of the restaurant, the food appearance and taste, cleanliness of the restaurant, and previous customer service experiences,...

My family and I used to be huge fans of Pita Mediterranean. For the last three years, it was one of our go-to spots for special occasions, and we would order from them almost every month or two through Uber Eats. Our order was always the same: gyro fries and three mini pitas — and for a long time, it never disappointed.

Unfortunately, over the past 6–9 months, the quality has gone downhill. The first time we noticed something off was about eight months ago, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, each subsequent order confirmed that the quality has consistently declined, and yesterday was the last straw.

Here’s what has changed: • Gyro fries: The portion of fries has shrunk significantly. Instead of being balanced, the dish is now overloaded with oily chicken and much fewer fries. The sauces that used to elevate the dish are no longer as flavorful or generous. • Mini pitas: These used to be packed, flavorful, and moist — loaded with beef gyro and plenty of sauce (I think it was tahini). They were so stuffed before that it was hard to even close them! Now, they’re dry, barely have any beef, and the white sauce is almost non-existent. On top of that, the extra side sauce/dressing which was free and they used to provide is no longer included. (Yesterday we ordered extra sauce which was $1, but it wasn’t delivered as well)

It’s disappointing because this restaurant used to be one of our absolute favorites. The quality, flavor, and generosity that once set them apart have really diminished. Sadly, after three years of being loyal customers, I don’t think we’ll be ordering again unless things turn around. All being said, please bring back your quality. We...
