In response to Mr. Glass's negative review about Enzo's, I vehemently disagree. His review clearly doesn't take into account all of what was really occurring at the restaurant during his visit. My family and I were actually seated near his very large group and saw firsthand exactly what went on. FYI - Saturday was YSU's (and other schools') graduation ceremonies, so ALL restaurants in Trumbull and Mahoning county had at least a 2 hour wait. We called Vernon's, Stonebridge, Cafe 422, Rachel's, Donavito's, and they ALL said at least a 2 hour wait.
First, we were all told at the very beginning that there was going to be a long wait. There were large parties, all of which were being handled by ONE SINGLE SERVER. So the wait should have not been a surprise to them.
Second, as for the rationing of the water and bread, there were water pitchers placed on their table. The bread is baked and then sliced in the kitchen, which means the servers can only bring it out when it's ready.
Third, as for the gratuity issue, it is standard restaurant protocol to automatically add the gratuity to large parties. If people were better at tipping their servers who are responsible for their large group, restaurants wouldn't have to do it.
Fourth, the people behind them were actually me and my family. We were told immediately there was a long wait, and the restaurant was short-staffed. Knowing that, we ordered drinks and appetizers and we were fine. When we asked for water refills, we received them. We were NOT there 2.5 hours; we were there approx an hour and half.
Fifth, the people across from Mr. Glass's party did not FIND a hair in their food, they PUT it there. They were difficult from the start complaining about garlic toast that was hard (it's TOAST?), asking for bread when there were two baskets full of bread on their table, complained about only getting one side (either soup or salad) with a Lasagna dinner (how many sides does one person need with a lasagna dinner?). Those people were looking for a free meal and are simply just white trash.
Finally, Mr. Glass's large party could have easily declined the wait when they were told about it and went somewhere else. They chose to stay, they clearly saw with their own eyes there was only one server for the entire banquet room and quite frankly, should have a little more...
Read moreWas very disappointed in the food and service. We got there early for our reservation and were pretty much the only ones there. Waited at least 15 mins to give drink order and another 15 mins to get the drinks. Ordered appetizers which were ok. I chicken caccitorie and it was cold but it was also served very strange. Any where else I've had it it was chunks of chicken mixed with mushrooms onions peppers and sauce. This was 2 small chicken breast with super thin cuts of pepper and onion and I couldn't find any mushrooms and the pasta was serves separately with different sauce and it was way too salty. After sending it back to be reheated which only took 2 mins it was still cold and just awful. The waitress never came back to full drinks or ask if everything was OK. We finally asked another waitress to get her so my other family members could get boxes for their food. My cousin got.the fried fish and it was also cold but she never came back to ask us so my cousin didn't eat hers either. When she finally came back to bring our checks we had to ask if they had dessert and for some to go boxes. 15 mins later she brought everything out and when I told her I didn't want to take mine home she asked why so i told her. She did offer to make me something else and I said no cause everyone else was done eating. So she took it off the bill but the point was lousy service and food. And it was $82 and i didn't even eat. I dont mind when the service and food are good, but...
Read moreFIRST IMPRESSION MEANS EVERYTHING......I'll start by saying I'm not a picky person when it comes to food. Most of the time, I'll like a restaurant when others don't. That being said, Enzos has ridiculously terrible food, and has earned the honor my longest and lowest google review! Ordered a steak and they brought me a hamburger patty on a plate. The group of people I had dinner with quickly turned it into a huge joke. Only positive thing about the experience was now we can all joke about how seriously bad the food is at this place. I only say this because when I pointed out my "steak" to 2 different employees they explained that what I was served was steak. One team member said she would talk to the manager and no one ever came to speak to me. Honestly, I would have still insisted on paying for my "steak" that I didn't eat just on principle. I should also mention that my whole party was blown away by how bad the food was. My group said the food used to be much better. To the owner of Enzos I apologize for the negative review but I felt the food experience your establishment provided necessitated this reaction. Good luck in your...
