1 star for the bad mood they give it to you. 2 stars for the food and vibe. This is my first time visiting here and I'm pretty excited to try out this 20 years old Chinese dim sum house. Normally I would drive 30mins to Shangri-la in west bloomfield, which is farther. After checking it I realize that the half hour traveling time to shangri-la is definitely worth the time. As a Chinese who speaks mandarin, I can't understand their oral explanation when I tried to figure out what the thing is behind the dish name, the interesting thing is every servant communicates in Cantonese and they mixed 1/3 mandarin,1/3 Cantonese,1/3 broken English when they tried to explain to me a dish. Of course I didn't make sense of what the dishes are. And they were getting impatient when I asked them what were those made of, just kept asking me repeatedly "Do you want it?!" without helping me figure out what those were. Their communication style brings me uncomfortable and confusing. I arrived off peak hours and their are only 2 tables of customer, they (servant) started to chat loudly if you don't familiar what they were talking about you would think there was a group of women yelling and screaming to each other. So harsh to the guest who was eating their lunch. Overall, the feeling is rude, it's like they only here for the money and they don't expect the guests would come back again. They don't care about how quality the service is cuz they are not the Boss. The food is just ok compare to other dim sum dishes, I would give 55/100 points on it. Go to other place for Dim Sum...
Read moreI was very excited to try this place because I have never had dim sum and the idea sounds fun and this location is right by my house. We went on a Saturday evening and there were only 2 other patrons in the restaurant...this should have been a clue, but I was thinking that maybe it is a hidden gem. The hostess never stopped talking on the phone while she seated us and the back of the chairs at the table we were seated were sticky and dirty. When we asked about dim sum dining, they brought out a special menu with pictures and a sheet to place your order (like for sushi). We were a little disappointed that the food was not going to be present traditionally via cart, but the pictures of the food looked good, so we were still excited. We selected 8 items and only 3 were printed on the sheet so we penciled the other 5 in. It turns out that only what was on the sheet was a current menu item. It would have been helpful if they told us that or crossed them out on the picture menu they have specifically for this purpose. The waitress was a bit rude when she finally explained this to us and since we already selected all the items we wanted to try (and now only ended up with 3) we decided to leave. Perhaps the food is good, but the service was bad and the restaurant was dirty. Unless I hear it is cleaned and under new management, I do not plan to try them again. I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 since I didn’t get to try the food, I am giving them the benefit...
Read moreWe decided to try this place out. We dined in , after seeing the cleanliness I was a bit apprehensive. We ordered the Sesame chicken combo with rice and egg roll. The chicken was delicious, the rice is basic but gravy and green onions help enhance the rice. Egg rolls was basic at best. Only problem was when my husband noticed a fly in his rice. This was after we started eating. I was so irritated because the chicken was delicious. We made our server aware and she giggled and said no problem, she did replace the rice. At that point my spider senses kicked in and I started noticing everything. The cleanliness of this place is lacking. Upon leaving we noticed their side door open and about 5 rat traps along the side where the door was open. There were even more placed around the front of the building. Never in my life did I see that many rat traps around a restaurant. I was skeptical and...
