My husband and I came to The Guild a few weeks ago, and the beer was good and at a reasonable price for what it was.
HOWEVER...
We were waiting in a very long (and quickly growing) line to order food to go along with our drinks, and when I peeked into the kitchen, I was appalled to see a short, heavyset man in a chef's coat and glasses (who I assume is in some sort of leadership position based on his attire vs the rest of the employees) stand in the window leaning on the wall, staring at the employees and customers alike, and not doing anything to help expedite the situation. Additionally, and most appallingly, during my brief view of the place that was supposedly going to be preparing our food, I saw the same man reach into his pants to scratch his bum, and proceed to touch plates/food with his bare hands, without washing his hands - DISGUSTING!!!!!!! While I understand that going to a restaurant comes with it's fair share of an honor system in terms of cleanliness, never in my life have I seen it happen so openly and without remorse, and right for the general public to witness (or at least the decency to wash their hands after the fact).
Needless to say, I quickly removed myself from the food line.
It's likely safe to say that this place has many health code violations behind closed doors, but I don't wish to be unlucky enough to find out for myself.
We will not be returning to The Guild in...
Read moreRated great, food looks fantastic. Showed up yesterday around 2ish, place wasn't even half full. You sit down, there's no server that comes over, you go ot the bar, to order drinks and food, some guy w/a ponytail, doesn't act friendly, not looking at you when you're talking, says, "We're not taking food orders. We were busy about an hour ago, so it might be about an hour before we take another food order." My woman said, "Oh, maybe we'll go somewhere else." He says, "You should." The beer flight wasn't that good, and it's got a little window like ordering from a snack bar. A skating rink could bounce back from a food rush, they can't?! lol. Funny and kind of sad. People here were scattering around like it was packed when we walked in. Really? Step up your game. Again, far too many places to go better. If you want ok beer, unfriendly service and the potential of not being able to order food if they get busy, go here. It's basically a big space w/younger unfriendly people and a snack bar window to order snack bar type food but try and come off it's a 5 star place. What a huge...
Read moreWe recently had our daughter’s wedding rehearsal party at The Guild Warren and they did an amazing job to accommodate our 50+ guests. We had friends coming from as far away as Ireland, plus Los Angeles CA, North and South Carolina, Missouri, Atlanta and Savannah Georgia, Washington DC, New York, Boston and Rhode Island and everyone had a great time. The food was delicious and fresh, and was ready on time. Everyone was raving about the cheeseburger sliders, crispy chicken sliders, the mac and cheese was a HUGE hit, as well as the sausage and veggie flatbreads, salad and pretzel bites. All the beer and seltzer choices were great too! Having the added bonus of the waterfront setting on the Palmer River was spectacular and really impressed our guests. Ed was great to work with and answered all my questions. Because I live in NY, I had to plan this whole event via email and phone and he was just the best! Taylor was fantastic at the bar, and the whole team at the brewery did a great job. It was a...
