This was our first time there. I likely won't be back. If you want the whole story; I'll paint the picture if not - the short of it is the onion soup is a no, entrees were good, dessert was okay - service is a NO. It's a Wednesday night and our reservation was at 5:30pm. All started out well we were greeted by a nice gentleman who informed us he was filling in for the regular host. no big deal. There was no one else on the main level of the dining room. The decor was really nice and the restaurant was clean. A few mins later our waitress came over to greet us and give us menus. We were waiting on two more people for our party of four; she proceeded to take our drink orders and pour the waters (which were never refilled or offered). She walked away and we didn't see her again until about 10 mins later (still no one else in the dining area with us). She returns with our drinks & greets the rest of the party and takes their drink order. another 10 mins go by and then she spills that drink order everywhere. She cleans the mess and leaves for another 10 mins to replace the drinks. My hubs orders another drink at this time. When she returns - she takes half our order and leaves again. She comes back with the drink my hubs orders and spills it all over my plate and then puts its down infront of him (not saying anything about the mess). she leaves & we don't see her until the apps come out. our party ordered the stuffies, raw bar & onion soup. All was as expected except the onion soup - it had spoonfuls of peppercorn in it making it almost inedible (I picked them out of each bite). We then inform her my husbands drink is completely wrong and would like to order the correct one. she says thats the correct one - yet all the garnish and color is very different. Our entrees were good - nothing extra, nothing notable. She returns half way through the apps and says she needs to take the wrong drink back now (after its been on our table for 10 mins). Dessert time - hubs and I order dessert and a double espresso - she walks away completely ignoring the other 2 people at our table!!! She comes back with a single shot of espresso and when we asked she quipped back with it's a double - my manager made it. and then we informed her that we didn't all order dessert. she seemed extremely annoyed at this point. Never once did she apologize for a mistake made. If she had, this may have gone a different way. While I do understand that restaurants are doing the best they can during this time - if a person is new or training, courtesy is to let the table know. It should be noted I was not rude or unkind to her in anyway during our visit. This was some of the worst service I've received anywhere. If you've made it this far in the review - you're amazing and don't go here unless you want to pay $$$ for awful service. Also, definitely do not order the peppercorn - I mean...

If you're looking for a beautiful waterfront dining experience, Trafford’s is the place to go. Even though we visited on a gloomy day, the view overlooking the Barrington River was still stunning. I can only imagine how breathtaking it must be on a sunny evening with the sun setting in the background.
The staff were incredibly friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the start. The cocktail menu is impressive, featuring creative signature drinks that are hard to pass up. Of course, you can stick to your usual favorites—but with such a fun and flavorful menu, why not try something new?
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The Chilean Sea Bass was a standout: pan-seared and served with a citrus glaze, frisée & watermelon radish slaw, sticky rice, and green beans sautéed with caramelized onions. Every bite was a treat.
The Trafford Pan Roast was next-level good: seared cod, wild-caught white shrimp, P.E.I. mussels, little necks, and Mexican chorizo, all served with red potatoes in a spicy fire-roasted tomato broth and accompanied by grilled sourdough. Rich, bold, and satisfying.
The rack of lamb was another favorite—perfectly cooked and served with roasted cipollini onions, herbed mashed potatoes, Dijon veal demi, and tender baby carrots. Absolutely mouthwatering.
Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name!) was a lovely red-haired woman who clearly knew the menu inside and out. Her recommendations were spot on—from the entrées to the raspberry crème brûlée, which was the perfect sweet ending.
All in all, I give Trafford’s two enthusiastic thumbs up! I highly recommend it for a special night out, especially if you're a fan of fresh seafood, expertly crafted dishes, and a beautiful...

Perhaps once in a lifetime you find someplace really special for you and your spouse. Seven years ago we went to Trafford’s for the first time. What we remember about it was how it made us feel. Both of us work hard in our professions and to go out to dinner and find wonderful food, excellent and attentive wait staff, and relaxed environment simply made our day. We then came every month at least once mostly twice to enjoy the excellence and serenity at Trafford. Sadly we lost this when the fire occurred for several years. Then absolute joy when Trafford’s reopened and we found the same wonderful food, wonderful staff in a simply beautiful rebuilt building. The joy we felt and the absolute calm and serenity is all back for us. Recently we celebrated my 76th birthday at Trafford with my entire family. It was amazingly special for me and we had our special event upstairs with the entire place devoted to us . Chrissy our server did an awe inspiring service for us making it perhaps one of the most special birthdays I have ever had
I have attached a picture of this special moment.
I work in the computer software business doing quality assurance 10 hours every day. Being able to calm down and relax completely at Trafford’s is simply a joy for us. I will always be thankful for this the...
