Tav-Vino Restaurant — Restaurant in Warren

A big nope from our table of four! We went to Tav-Vino last night to celebrate our friends’ birthdays. We’ve been there before and had an enjoyable experience so it was our friends’ choice. This time so extremely disappointing!! For starters, after requesting a specific table and getting the assurance that it was reserved for us, we arrived to find that it was now reserved for another party! Two of us then ordered the special which was listed on the white board as “lobster, scallops and shrimp.” It arrived with literally one scallop, one shrimp, and one minuscule piece of lobster, if that’s what you could even call it! I complained to our waitress who quickly dismissed it, saying “yeah, you only get a tiny piece of lobster” before she ran away, not to come back. The icing on the cake was the more than half hour wait for the check, which was scribbled on little pieces of paper and illegible, except for the total of $250!! Could have been so much better with simple changes. Such a shame. You’ve lost four locals who love to go out and patronize the local...

A dining disappointment. A befuddled female bartender playing nice to the local neighborhood patrons who seemed to linger on every word of her naive wisdom. Comical. I ordered stuffies (stuffed clams) that were literally the size of 1/2 dollars. The stuffies were moist but contained very few clams and were tasteless. The monk fish and lobster baked dish was dry and also tasteless with very little lobster meat. There were very few waitresses to serve the bar AND the restaurant. Bottom line - go to the many local restaurants in East Bay for a much better, tastier and less expensive dining experience. Tav-Vino's was truly a disappointment and unimpressive. I'll give my waitress the benefit of the doubt cause it was her second day there, but me and my girlfriend waited a little over an hour for our food and it was NOT busy at all. But she was overwhelmed for some reason... I've served before, and it's not rocket science. Just come to my table, ask what I want, refill my sodas, bring me my food and you get a tip. I don't know why waitresses, from all restaurants, make it so complicated but this one, no excuses cause she waited 30 minutes in to punch our orders in. And the food wasn't even worth the wait either. I hope she found something that's less...
