STAY AWAY! Where to start? If I could leave less than 1 star I would. As someone who has eaten pho for years, I like to think I know what to expect when it comes to a decent bowl of pho. My husband has eaten it for over a decade and has traveled all over the world. This is notable because he has had pho from all over the world, and yet, neither of us have ever had pho that tasted as bad as the one served at Pho 4 u.
For starters, I ordered the seafood pho and my husband ordered the combination pho and both were atrocious. The amount of salt in both broths overpowered what little seasoning they attempted to use. The bowls are extremely overpriced, and with that price tag you get a handful of noodles at best, 3 pieces of meat, and mung bean sprouts that were already turning brown. The âegg rollsâ were wrapped in rice paper, severely under seasoned, and burnt. When the pho reached the table I noticed the shrimp used was of the cocktail variety and had a crunch and flavor that isnât in traditional pho. My husband ordered a bahn mi to go only to learn that it was even saltier and more disappointing than the pho and served on a hotdog bug instead of the traditional roll. All of this disappointment costed nearly 50.00 and when asked what was wrong with the food , I answered by explaining that it was extremely salty and I did not eat more than one bite of my pho and my husbandâs sandwich was left on the table. The owner proceeded to ring us up without trying to rectify the issue. Needless to say, will not be going back and it definitely is not worth your time or money to try...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying, I absolutely love pho. Even a mediocre bowl makes me do a little happy dance while Im eating, and if I could have one meal for the rest of my life, pho would be it. However, in this case, disappointing would be an understatement. I came here after seeing the great reviews from others, and I dont know if they have a new cook or something but it was nothing like the other reviews said. Extremely salty, and had none of the flavors of a typical pho. It was almost like they just used generic chicken broth and added a couple of things to slightly alter the flavor. The combination meat was tough, and there was barely anything in the bowl. The prices are out of control. The bowl you get for 12.50 is a joke. Will not be returning and strongly advise the restaurant operators to go to literally ANY other pho place in the greater KC area and try to figure out what they are doing, because this is easily the worst. Oh, and I didnt get my happy dance for the first time...
Read moreThis was my first time at PHO 4U. I was very anxious to try it out because of my love for Thai food. The establishment was very clean and the service was very good. I ordered egg rolls for an appetizer and the Beef Combo Pho for the main dish. The egg rolls came in a reasonable time but barely warm. The sauce was a little short of taking the 2 egg rolls the distance. The Beef Combo Pho had a good flavor but I felt it lacked some seasonings that should have been there and the beef was a little short. I will have to say I m a Pho chicken fan and the beef does little for me. The drinks were limited to out of a can.I was a little disappointed with the over-all experience with this place. I would suggest a little bigger menu that included some chicken dishes. I imagine it is a challenge, like so many places have now for this place to operate. I would not necessarily avoid this place at all costs, but I m not in a...
