IHOP — Restaurant in Warrensburg

I actually applied there as a server and wasn't hired. So I will be as honest as I can. I was disappointed of course because I wasn't hired as a server, I have many many years of experience in the restaurant business. In my experience, I worked exclusively on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. The Plaza is an upscale outdoor shopping center, with every type of restaurant you would ever need. It has an impec able record having been built in 1927. That being said, I honestly feel that I wasnt hired because each and every time I have been there to dine, I noticed that the servers were anywhere from 18 to 30 years old, the oldest. I really was more observant than normal because I was curious to see if my feeling may have been correct. That being said, the first couple of times I ate there, I had the same server, that I must say was friendly, fast and right on schedule from the beginning till the end. I told her I thought she was an excellent server. Because of her great service I tipped her more than twenty percent. Another waited on me and I was given great service. I had since eaten there and had medium to good service. Then the last time I dined there I would rate my server as a one, if that. She took forever to acknowledge my table, and when she did, the food took forever to get to my table, about 40 minutes. She never came back to the table to see whether the food was good or if I needed a refill. Each time my friend and I had to ask someone walking by to get yet another drink, they said I will tell your server and it still took forever. As I would try to catch her attention I immediately noticed that she wasn't busy like I thought, but was distracted talking with other employees. All the way to getting to go boxes I was met with a very lazy and inefficient server. Even when checking out it took an extremely long time to pay. Every aspect of my experience there at that particular time was either to slow or not on time for anything. I left with the feeling that I didn't matter. Would I dine there again, why of course I would because overall the server's were fast and curteous. From the front of the house to the back. As I had stated earlier, I was was in the restaurant business for 35 years and I realize that a dining area can experience one bad apple. So I will go back again, and the next server will be my deciding factor, as to whether I will dine there again. So I still highly recommend IHop. Overall rating a 4, but with improvement it...

This location needs to learn to listen to the customer. It took a bit to get somebody to take our drink order so we placed our drink and food at the same time. There were 4 of us for breakfast. I had asked for lemon with my water, but never got it. About 3-5mins before food, we were asked which condiments we'd like but they weren't brought until after the food so we had to wait for ketchup, salt, pepper, syrup, extra butter, etc. When the food came... my dad's order was not correct (ordered 10 silver dollar pancakes and 2 scrambled eggs but was given only the silver dollar pancake combo which is 5 cakes with 1 egg and sausage link), there wasn't even the offer to make a 2nd set then the cakes weren't warm enough to even melt the butter... my omelet was to be served with salsa but I had to ask for it then I was accidentally given marinara sauce which when I looked at it thought it was a blended style salsa so I had to ask for salsa again and wasn't offered a remake of my now marinara big steak omelet so I ate it with salsa and marinara (weird flavors).... my brother in law's meal was a pancake combo but wasn't brought out pancakes so had to ask for those... my sister's order was fine except the pancakes weren't even warm enough to melt the butter like my dad's silver dollar pancakes... Now we know accidents happen but we had to ask for so much already and having the orders that were missing parts, we were tired of asking for things so we just ate the food as it was (parts cold and marinara/salsa mixed on mine)... when I went to pay, I asked that they explain to waitresses/waiters that its the dining experience as much as it is the food... the manager tried to explain why/how things happen and I told her we were done asking for things to be fixed because we couldn't have a conversation during our meal from all the little mistakes... she finally understood the experience was ruined... I told her I just wanted her to be aware about the experience bcuz I'd be writing a review and she did discount the meal but I wanted the understanding of what made the experience so awful so the review is not a shocked review. This review is at 2-stars due to experience and the mistakes (and I can'tproperly review the omelet I had due to the funkiness of marinara/salsa on it)... if/when I eat there again, maybe I'll be able to update it for...

Went to IHOP and left 45 mins later with nothing. We sat for 20 mins ignored, finally had to get a server. Other waitress just told server instead of trying to help us at least get drinks. Server then gave us a sad story about how they don't have sections anymore and they never sit people in the back(they sat us in the back because all the other tables were empty but not cleaned) and hostess didn't tell him she sat people. Funny because we saw him walk by several times and it is not hard to look around when you don't have sections to double check no new tables arrived. Place is not that big and there are a total of 5 tables here and 3 servers and a hostess. Server then was the slowest person ever writing down our order making us repeat orders 3 times each. We waited another 15-20 mins and he still had not returned with our drinks. He proceeded to pass by 3 times tending to his only other table where it seemed like he had gotten orders wrong and never looked in our direction for me to flag him down and yet again ask for our drinks. We finally had had it and my child was crying out of hunger and thirst so I walked into kitchen to cancel our order and we left. Another waitress was shocked we even existed as well (might I stress at 5'3 I can stand and see whole restaurant so not sure why these people can't do the same).We have never had great service at this IHOP but this was...
