Warrensburg Community Center — Attraction in Warrensburg

Had a very disappointing visit today. Unprofessional staff and poor customer service. Went to attend kids first summer swim lesson and found out that it was canceled after we had called in the morning to double check if it was still on and had the staff tell us yes, it was still on. We called to double check in the morning since the indoor pool that the swimming lesson was taking place on advertisment had been closed for repair for a while but they said yes, lesson was still on and when we got to the main office 8n the evening for the lesson, a man told us its not on at indoor pool but it will be at outdoor pool. After we were redirected to outdoor pool, the staff there looked at us crazy and told us no, they have no lessons at outdoor pool and the whole summer swim lesson has been canceled. There was no information that went put about the lesson been canceled for the whole season and the staff didn't even know at the main office. We had to even ask about refunds. Kids were very disappointed to find out they had no lesson and we were disappointed with their poor...

I have worked out at the fitness center here almost daily for 6 years and sporadically for several years before that. It is a bit on the small side, but they have a pretty good setup that almost all you need for full body lifting and cardio. I usually go early in the morning, but have gone at all different times as well. It is rarely busy enough to be a problem. The equipment has been updated over the years and is usually well maintained. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is they recently changed the membership option to be an all access membership to the fitness center, pool, and classes. That seems like a good idea, but myself and many others will rarely use the other services. So I'm am left paying a lot more for stuff I do not use. They need to also have an option for people to pay to use only the individual different facilities as they choose for a smaller fee. Especially with other cheaper gym competition coming to...

Swim classes here are a joke. I have had my kids in lessons in 2 other states, and this, by far, is the worst. I just sat and watched my sons class sit at the opposite end of the pool and just float there for 45 mins. No warm-ups, not once was any swimming involved. He knows the basics up to freestyle, and this class was supposed to refine this skill. This isn't a one-off either, his previous class was the same way. I have been taking my son here, on and off, for about a year with little progress. I just keep hoping they get better. They even implemented a new curriculum, which sounds great, if they would actually teach the skills. The only reason it is not 1 star is that the facilities are overall really good. I'm just not sure the classes are...
