Worst meal ever. We were so disappointed. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday. They no longer have cheeseballs as listed online. The price on the Surf and Turf is also more expensive than listed on line. I don't mind paying good money for good food, but honestly I'm debating whether or not to even feed the leftovers to the dogs. That is how horrible it was. The fried mushrooms were good and that was it. Even the tea was cloudy. My boyfriend ordered loaded chicken. The peppers and onions weren't even al dente, they were raw. I guess the " cook" ( clearly not a chef) couldn't be bothered to even melt the provolone. The fried potatoes were awful, according to my boyfriend. Now to my meal. Huge mistake. The Surf was a piece of over cooked cod served with nothing unless you request. The supposed Turf was supposed to be 12 Oz rib eye. It was fatty, full of gristle and about 1/8 of an inch thick like a Walmart breakfast steak. Pitiful. I posted for the salad bar which is an upcharge of 3.99. Salad bar was lacking in every way. Spring mix, iceberg lettuce, soggy tomato, regular salad veggies. I didn't try the pea salad, it just looked like a jar of Helmans someone dropped a pea in. Pitiful. The Mac and cheese, another upcharge which I am willing to pay when it's not just dry elbow macaroni with melted finely shredded cheese on top. Disgusting. Bottom line is that in total I paid $42 for a disgusting Surf and Turf and didn't even get a dinner roll. Our server appeared to be new to the place and I'm sure had she been there longer she would have not even brought that disaster out from the kitchen. It's hard to challenge a cook when you are new. It would have been nice to have a side plate with appetizers though. Pitiful. Well it was an expensive lesson. It cost me $100 to know we will never go back,we will tell anyone who will listen not to go there. Save your time and money.

We stayed at an airbnb nearby and had a few suggestions to dine. We chose to come here. The waitress made suggestions for the special, the brown sugar bourbon pork chop, baked potatoes, with a salad bar option. Yes!!! Was my answer! Sold! The salad bar was clean, and the lettuce was cut for bite size. It's not a huge salad bar but very good. Now, to this pork chop. I was pleasantly surprised with the 2 chops on our plates. As thick as these chops are, they were cooked perfectly, that delicious sear crust was so....... good! Seriously, who can eat all of that!?? I love leftovers so....... Win! Win! There was only 1 waitress when we got there, and I appreciated the heads up from the host. I asked the waitress how many cooks there was in the back cooking this delicious meal. She said 1. 1? Wow, there were about 6 tables, and I didn't think there was much time waiting for our meals with 1 cook. I only asked because I wanted to give the cooks a tip as well. Kudos for these gals running the show. Thank you for a great meal!!! Those onion things are really good!!! Great flavor, no dipping sauce needed!!! Don't forget to stock your Yuegling, pleasešŸ˜‰

My hisband and I stopped by on our way on a trip up to Chicago. 10/10 stars for everything!!! The atmosphere was cozy but modern and rustic at the same time. Also, I loved the Halloween decorations they had! Subtle nod to the season without detracting from the natural vibe of the restaurant. The staff were amazing and very attentive, they made sure we were taken care of and always made sure our drinks were full. And the food! So amazing!! I had the smothered wrap and I've never had something covered with so much cheese before it was amazing!! The garlic mashed potatoes I had were so rich and I could taste the garlic so clearly! Best garlic mashed potatoes I've had. My husband had the Southwest Burger and Sweet carrots, and he said the burger was an interesting flavor combo and was mildly spicy, which is good because he loves spicy things. šŸ˜… Overall amazing in all areas!! If your looking for a modern but cozy restaurant with good food and great staff, this is for you. 😊

update may 2019: tried this place again today and unfortunately had to bust it down to one star. in my previous post, I stated they have good potential. and I stand by that statement. this time I tried the pork chop meal. i’ll start by saying the mashed potatoes were FLAVORLESS and COLD. I still ate them, didn’t complain about them. but what I did complain about was my pork chops. they tasted as if they had been sitting in a freezer for over a year and then cooked. I couldn’t take more than one bite. my sisters fries were stale (how you mess up fries, beats me) I almost wonder if they ever empty out their freezer or if food just piles up and eventually becomes freezer burnt but they still cook it. I also think the restaurant itself was beautiful. amazing decor. mellowed out vibe. it LOOKS fancy. even the prices are on the ā€œfancyā€ side for what you get. yet... you have your employees walking around in short shorts, long socks with designs on them, etc. if you’re gonna charge those prices and have a presentable establishment, I recommend making your employees look presentable as well.

This restaurant has the potential to be 5 stars, great service and menu choice as well as drink choices. The pasta I ordered was fantastic. what I was upset about though, is that we paid almost $8 for a kids meal chicken nuggets- and i’m almost 99.99% positive those chicken nuggets were frozen nuggets from walmart. they were dinosaur shaped and look identical to the ones I buy for my daughter. I can buy an entire bag for that price. another issue I had is that my husband ordered the 8oz ribeye cooked medium. I’m gonna tell you guys, don’t waste your time on their steaks. for $13 that steak was the thinnest piece of steak we’ve ever received at a restaurant. it is IMPOSSIBLE to cook that properly if you don’t know how to cook a steak. it was well done. not even a bit of pink. like I said, potential to be 5 stars. but you guys really need to re-evaluate who you have in the kitchen and what you’re serving your customers.... especially for...

I realize this review counters the majority of the reviews for Oliver's but this is a true, unbiased review. I waited a couple of days for my disappointment to subside in an effort to take emotion out of the equation. My daughter took me here for Father's Day. We went on Saturday since she had a prior commitment on Sunday. The dƩcor was very nice and the place was clean. It took a bit but we ordered drinks and the breaded chicken wings, NY style. They were awesome. Perfectly cooked and the mixture of sweet chili sauce and the fresh chopped onion was great. After that things went downhill quickly. Service was excruciatingly slow. Without wanting to, our time in the restaurant was 1 hour 10 minutes. There were only three or four other tables filled and there were two waitresses, a hostess the manager and a bar tender. One person was at the bar. I agree with other reviewers, the mashed potatoes seemed instant and the corn was a dark brown. Both were terrible. If your doc has prescribed a bland diet for you, give this place a look. In all fairness, my daughter did bring all this up to the manager and she comp'ed our entire bill. It appeared that our waitress might have received some impromptu OJT from the manager while we were there as well. I'll go back one more time since I want to be fair. I'll report back if I have a different experience. Oh, one more thing. The bartender eating her Burger King takeout at the bar isn't a good look. I get it, if I worked at a restaurant I'd want something different on occasion too. It's probably better if it is consumed away from the patron's view. In this case it actually made me wish...
