I have visited McAllister's before in other states and always had a great experience so I was looking forward to visiting this PA location as this location is 2 hours away from me and out of state that I lived in. Unfortunately the 1st vist we made wasn't anywhere close to what I experienced at other locations, 1st they were sold out of the roast beef spud. We got there right after lunch time so I was surprised to hear they were sold out. I ended up getting a ham and cheese melt. It was good, just disappointed about the spud. 2nd alot of the dinning area was full of dirty dishes. Guess it was really busy for lunch and not enough help to clean up. 3rd we wanted to take home a couple of gallons of the sweet tea and peach tea. The sweet tea we empty while we were there and the peach was empty before we go there. When we asked how long it would be, we were told would take a half hour before more was ready, we went down the street for ice cream as we waited. And 4th thing and the biggest issue we had with this vist was, the employee behind tbe counter clearly didn't want to be there and was happy. He was moving slowly with everything he was doing, and I heard him drop the F bomb soon as he got to the back when he was taking some dirty dishes back.
We visited again a few weeks later, arrived during actual lunch time, while some aspects were better, I was able to get the roast beef spud, it was one of the last ones as I heard thay sold out again right after, and they had only 2 people working, so one person would take the order, then go in the back to help make it before taking another order, so wait time was alittle higher. We were able to get the gallons of tea right away this time, no wait.
The 2nd vist was definitely better then the 1st despite only two people working for...

The staff greeted us with warm smiles and were incredibly attentive throughout our visit, enhancing the cozy, friendly atmosphere.
The menu is extensive, offering a delightful variety of dishes that cater to all tastes and dietary needs. I ordered the Savannah Chopped Salad, and it was a revelation—fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor, paired beautifully with their signature sweet tea. My friends enjoyed a range of sandwiches and soups, and each dish was met with rave reviews.
What really sets McAlister’s apart is their commitment to quality and service. The ingredients were fresh, the food was beautifully presented, and everything tasted wonderfully homemade. The prices are very reasonable, providing great value for such high-quality meals.
I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant and the efficiency with which our meals were served. It's clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for them.

Read moreJust a wonderful experience. This was our first time eating here. We will definitely be going back. The restaurant is spotless and has a nice amount of space between tables so you don’t feel on top of other patrons. The food was absolutely delicious. The potato salad was chunky and creamy. (Yum). We both got The Spicy Southwest Chicken Sandwich which did not disappoint at all! The staff were super friendly and the Manager Valerie was refreshing and friendly. We really enjoyed speaking with her. Definitely stop by and try them out now that they are open. I’m editing this review as I just read through other peoples reviews. I think their prices were more than fair. My sandwich was excellent! The service was spot on, and the speed was actually outstanding. Don’t let the bad reviews steer you away from this restaurant.
I came to find out yesterday that this restaurant closed permanently. It was a family owned business though a chain. The brother had tried opening this but had passed before it happened. The sisters took over and got it opened after many...
