Very poor experience at Oak n Alley today. Was our second attempt to eat there. The first time had too long of a wait, which you would think bodes well for the restaurant. We decided to come back a different day at a less busy time. 4 total tables in the store and ours was one of two that were not served yet. The second table coming in about 30 min after us. It took an hour and 30 min to get our appetizers and after two full hours , I had to track down another server to ask for our check and to only charge us for the food we already consumed as we would be unable to wait longer. Then our server came out and gave us attitude about whether we wanted our food in to go boxes or plates, and gave lots of excuses about the slow service. Besides the slow service, we had almost no service. Sharing two napkins and 2 forks between 2 adults and a toddler, no checking on our table, no refills on drinks in the two hours etc. Then our food came out, mine was good but my sister said hers was so salty it was inedible and she left it on the table. Fed up at this point, I decided I was finishing my $15 burger regardless but she left hers and decided to get something elsewhere. We didn’t even bring up the salty burger issue as we were done with the whole situation. Well, she was done, I figured I’d try to warn others. They did give a 20% discount which made up for the tip for the bad service I suppose . Oh and to add insult to injury the table that came in 30 min behind us got served their burgers as the same time as we did. Whatever their excuse was for the poor service, It didn’t seem to hold up for the other tables. They sure look like they forgot about us. Each time the server came out he purposely put his back to us so that we could not flag him down and ask him for any edition no napkins...

I'm not from the area and found this lovely place on Google. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I sat at the bar rail, which is typically my favorite seat as you can usually learn a lot about a place by watching and listening to what kind of place it is by the interactions behind and at the bar. Which ended up showing that the staff get along and work together well. First off, I was pleasantly greeted by Taylor, the bartender, and asked if I wanted water to start with, and promptly given a drink and food menu. I asked how their Old Fashioneds are, and she said they're one of the best. Challenge accepted. I ordered a smoked Woodford Old Fashioned, it was well crafted and precisely made. I would have preferred to have the cocktail smoker left on the glass during presentation instead of a drink coaster. Call me boujee. The drink itself was made just as well as any other craft cocktail lounge I've been to - so well done. When asked if I was ready to order, I questioned the difference between 2 of the burgers and the expert opinion and knowledge of the fare, and the menu made Taylor's recommendation an easy choice. Ultimately, I ordered the Republic burger, the cheese curds with the curry ketchup, and a 2nd Old Fashioned. The burger was cooked perfectly and presented fantastically. The cheese curds were just that, an ordinary cheese curd, but with the curry ketchup they're a cheese and fire explosion in every bite. The 2nd Old Fashioned was crafted just as superbly as the first. All in all a great experience, and Taylor definitely made it that way. A+ job to the...

I have been coming to Oak & Alley since they opened and have recommended them to others many times. This was formerly a 5 star review. However, my last experience has left me beyond disappointed. We ordered two burgers, both well done, and they both came out with red still in the meat. This happens, and we were not upset. We were ready to politely ask the server if the burgers could be cooked longer. However, the server walked by several times without acknowledging us. We finally had to flag down another staff member and ask him to get our server. We waited several more minutes, and the server never stopped at our table, although she walked by several times. We got the attention of the other staff member and told him the issue. We just asked to have the burgers removed from our bill. We waited a while before our server finally made her way to our table. She gave us the check and told us she had talked to the manager. The manager never came out to the table to apologize, which would have been good customer service and helped to redeem the situation. We waited more for our bill to be picked up and finally ended up walking up to the host stand to pay since at this point we want wanted to leave. I hate leaving negative reviews, especially for a restaurant I have always enjoyed, but I was disappointed at the way I was treated this time. I would have been happy with a prompt offer to cook the burgers longer. I understand that mistakes happen, but in these cases, a sincere apology and offer to make it right...

This was my first visit to Oak & Alley. I knew ahead of time that they specialized in craft burgers and beer. When we visited on a Monday night it was very slow. My wife and I enjoyed a quiet evening. The restaurant's seating is spread out into separate rooms so it gives you a feeling of privacy. Oak & Alley offers Pepsi products, as well as an assortment of craft beer. My wife and I enjoyed the Poutine as an appetizer. Didn't realize this is a thing in Canada, but was quite tasty. On a previous visit my wife had tried the Wild Shroom Burger which she said was quite good, but this time she tried the Belgian. I opted for the Mediterranean Burger. I really liked the blend of beef that they use for their burgers. Both burgers were done Medium Rare. I don't typically do hamburgers medium rare, but with the specialty beef blend it was excellent. For both my wife and I including tip the meal cost $40.00.

They have an abbreviated menu of an unusual assortment of excellent artsy burgers, plus some really great sides (the sweet potato fries are by far the best I've ever had) and then there's the salad that you could easily not realize is available. Be advised! Their salad is by far the best looking and greatest tasting I've ever experienced. It's hearty, healthy, amazing beautiful to look at, and the taste is superb. Nothing weird or experimental, but it's so much more flavorful than a typical (or even upscale) salad. I've had it now 3 or 4 times, and every time it's just absolutely fantastic. Please try it.
