Restaurant was only about 3/4 full. The Hostess standing at the front entrance wouldn’t seat us (2), we had to wait on another hostess to come from the kitchen. She looked at the hostess just standing there - in question as to why we weren’t taken to our table? After we were showed to our table, we waited 15 minutes for the Server Brita to arrive at the table and noticed that she is the one that has passed our table at least 8 times before even acknowledging that we were there. She looked at my friend and took his drink order and never even looked at me or ask me what I would like to drink. She rushed off again and it took 20 minutes to return with his Coke. I ask if I could possibly get a Coke too? She looked at me as if in disbelief that I would even ask her to do some work again. She left for another 15 minutes to return with another Coke. At this time she ask if we wanted to Order Appetizers? We declined and she walked away again. It was another 15 minutes and she returns and we give her our order. During this time 2 more tables come in, 1 was a 4 person table and the other one a 2 person table. Brita immediately went and got both tables drink orders and returned to them. She took their meal orders and they got their food before we did. My friend ordered a Chef Salad and I ordered Halibut w/mashed potatoes and Asparagus. Neither meal was hard to make. These other 2 tables received their meals before us and was done eating and had left before we were even halfway through our meals. Her Service to Us couldn’t have been more clear that she didn’t want to Serve Us. Each time she left our table she would prance around back and forth from table to table and completely ignore us. We were treated like Aliens from another planet, she was standing nearby us and my friend politely said Ma’am Ma’am and she Totally Ignored him and walked away. This is Totally Unacceptable in Any Establishment and We Will NEVER RETURN HERE AGAIN!! I Suggest that You Think Twice Before Even Attempting to Eat Here! First thing that Hits You in the Face when Walking Through The Front Door is Dead Fish. Just What I...
Read moreThis was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had as far as food quality. I will preface this review by saying that I grew up in a coastal town in the northeast, so my standard of good fish is high.
The pros: very friendly staff the waitress was very kind and friendly, and quite accommodating when I had to send my meal back (a first ever in my 39 years on this planet) cute decor, not too loud fun drinks menu
The cons: -Calamari salty rubbery over cooked super crunchy. Have had better at chain Italian restaurants! Calamari should be pan fried, not so deep fried that the meat underneath cant be told from fish or rubber bands.
Almond crusted walleye might as well be deep fried tilapia. Over fried, deep fried fish with some almonds on top. Not a true almond crust. (not crusted or breaded as labelled). The fish itself was dry and over seasoned. It had a "fishy" taste as well. Fish should not have that taste or smell if fresh! No pleasant walleye flavor whatsoever.
The Salad had wilted lettuce some was slightly brown.
My husbands Sushi was bland, grocery store quality. Hardly any fish in the rolls. "Worst California Roll I ever had" he said, and he is not a picky eater at all.
Fried plantains are a joke, cut so thick they don't cook all the way thru. They are supposed to be thin cut and lightly crispy.
Both my husband and I got home feeling extremely bloated.
We will never frequent this place again. The only fish place worth going to in NE Indiana is the Fish House...
Read more1st time ever that we were disappointed with our meal and we have been coming here for years a few times a year. Always get the almond crusted walleye. This time it was heavily breaded and very crunchy. Not the usual. The vegetables had a different flavor, too....just not the norm. Vegetables and rice were cold. My date and I both agreed, but he went ahead and ate his, but mine was simply not acceptable. They made me a new plate. It was better, food was hot this time, and walleye was not as thickly coated, but still not the same. Last time we were there we ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and thought it was the BEST we had ever had anywhere. We were looking so forward to having that again. Very disappointed AGAIN. It was thickly coated, instead of being lightly coated and it was overly done. Went ahead and ate the 5 for $16.00 and did not complain, but geez, what is going on? Is there a new chef? We were there at 5:00 p.m. and we only had a table of 2. The only thing I thought tasted the same and I have not complaints about was the key lime pie. Sorry, but not so sure we will be back.....something is just...
