My family stopped at Pina and Coconut this past Monday afternoon on our way from the Chicagoland area to the Pocomos for a family vacation. The restaurant itself is small but welcoming, with some beautiful artwork both inside and out. The owner & staff were equally awesome to talk to, providing us with explanations of both the food and culture which we greatly appreciated. The food was very fresh and delicious, including the complimentary soup we had at the beginning of our meal which they make fresh and which changes daily. The chef even made us an order of jack bread (a comfort food) to try. It truly was a very homey and friendly dining experience my whole family enjoyed. Ordered the Jerk Chicken (5 spiciness) and Drunk Chicken. 5 was the perfect level for me. Enough to let you know its there without needing a drink every bite. Presentation on the Drunk Chicken was unexpected and pretty neat.

Read moreThis was such a lovely food experience. My fiancé and I wanted to try something different and decided to give it a shot. We are so glad we did! The owner was very hospitable and a joy to talk to and helped us navigate the menu as we were new to this kind of cuisine. I also had a pineapple and coconut drink that was simply divine and complemented the spicy food! We will definitely be returning and trying more things on the...
