I came to this hotel for a work conference for two nights and the first night was wonderful and the lady at the front desk was absolutely spectacular! We had a wonderful conversation. The second day I was there however I went downstairs because I realized there was no hand soap in my bathroom and every time I looked at the place to eat on my phone it would only give me options an hour away so I went down to the front desk to get more soap and ask where I could eat. There was no hand soap at the front desk which was fine, I just ended up using the body wash that was in the shower for the rest of my visit. The problem is with the gentleman at the front desk, he kept trying to hit on me and continue the conversation so that I wouldn't walk away and it made me very uncomfortable. I kept trying to ask where I could get food and all he had to say was there was a place next door that offered carry out but he kept dodging my questions, asking for my personal info, and giving me compliments instead. I'm all for having a nice conversation like I did the night before with the lady who checked me in (who was absolutely lovely by the way.) But this man was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. Every time I would try to leave he would try to get me to stay longer so I kept trying to repeat why I had to go and why I was down there. I eventually decided it wasn't worth getting my question answered and after that interaction I did my best to avoid him for the rest of my visit. I will admit I am usually pretty oblivious to flirting and don't always realize when it's happening to me so if this man was being so blatant that even I picked up on it to the point that it made me uncomfortable there is definitely a problem there. What bothered me even more is I was a young woman traveling by myself and while I didn't expect anything to happen my uncomfortable feeling only grew realizing this man had access to all of my info through the reservation like my phone number, room number, checkout date, etc. Why he needed to know what room I was staying in just to check if they had soap is beyond me but I did make sure to use the extra lock on my door just in case. The saving grace for this hotel was the front desk lady who checked me in, the restaurant next door which had wonderful staff and great service, and I was not expecting turn down service but when I came back to my room after the first day of my conference and saw my bed was made that was a pleasant surprise and it was done very well and my things were...
Read moreWe had stayed at Wyndham Garden five years ago when we had to come for a funeral. At that time the staff were so welcoming, compassionate and caring and made our stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was quiet and we slept well. When we had to attend another funeral of a close family member this past week, we did not hesitate to make a reservation. This visit was nothing like the first. We were horrified to check in and head to our room only to find loud rock music being piped into the hallways! Inside the room we could hear the loud bass and drums continually thumping. We thought surely they would turn it off at least by nine o'clock so weary travelers could rest. They didn't. At ten thirty we had to ask the desk to turn it off. They did when we asked but turned it back on again in the early morning. What kind of marketing decision was that? To charge a hundred dollars a night to have to listen to hard rock music when we were exhausted from two days on the road and grief! That was only the beginning. The staff allowed teens to run screaming through the hallways for hours without stopping them Teens gathered at the pool immediately under our balcony and turned up music at full volume and nothing was done to stop them from disturbing all the other people. Again we complained at ten thirty pm and it was finally stopped. We thought that would be the end of it, but then a consistent loud pounding began and went on and on. By this time it was a few minutes until midnight. Had to complain again. The staff member said, "Yeah the teens are making a lot of noise tonight." So uncerned. The next morning I went down for coffee. The staff did not greet me, did not smile and when I asked about the coffee machine being broken, the man was very unfriendly. We were so disappointed that the level of customer service had gone down hill so much. We had been recommending Wyndham Garden to people and some of them had stayed there when visiting. We will never stay again and we put our experience on Facebook. I am a member of trip advisor and of course, I gave a negative...
Read moreThis will be a long review. Just want to start with we expected better from Wyndham! We booked several rooms for New Years Eve for the family. We were looking for specific amenities like indoor pool, hot tub, arcade, restaurant and lounge. These items would be perfect and Wyndham Gardens of Warsaw seemed to have it all. Unfortunately this was not the case. I specifically asked when we arrived if the pool was open. The young lady at the desk said yes, but the hit tub is broken, but the water is good. We noticed right away a chemical smell in the hallways, elevator was broken so we parked further down for easy access to the other elevator due to several small children and carrying pack and plays in. To our surprise the door keys did not open the door. I was told it was propped later by a staff member so it wouldn’t lock. We went to the pool area which looked at first to be very nice. We found the area freezing cold and even the kids couldn’t stay in the water due to it being so cold. We went to the desk to see if the heat could be turned up or on. Remember this is Northeast Indiana and its cold and snowing this day. The young lady said she would have maintenance look into it. We also asked about the arcade because the token machine was not taking bills. Again we were told someone would check into this. When we returned to the pool area you could see the heat had been turned in but it never made the area comfortable even after waiting several hours to allow the area to heat up. Restaurant and lounge was closed and never opened while we were there. We are not a family that is hard to please. We came here specifically so the kids could have a good time at the pool. We may have been in the pool area for a total of 1 hr because it was just too cold and the kids were shivering and asking to go. We noticed there were a lot of families there to enjoy the pool with their young kids as they were coming in with their floaties but there was only a small handful present at the pool. There were other issues, but these were...
