This is a very disappointing review to write, because as fellow business owners in the same plaza where this restaurant is located, we remember when the store opened, and how excited and friendly the owner was. Over the years, the level of service has plummeted severely. I will try and articulate the concerns the best I know how.
First Impressions: This is the most important thing you can give to your customer. I've seen other comments in reviews saying they never heard the "Welcome to Moe's!" greeting, and I am no exception. The first time I went to a Moe's restaurant was several years ago in South Florida, and when the other people I was with found out I'd never been, they started yelling, "WELCOME TO MOOOOES!!!" When we got to the restaurant, I had never been in the presence of a more enthusiastic group of employees as when they yelled it to us as we entered. It gave me such a great first impression. I don't even remember what I ordered that day, but I remember loving the place because of the awesome staff. The Moe's at this location hasn't uttered the phrase in ages. They used to say it, but barely a mutter. To be honest, I was excited for this location to open so I could be greeted as a customer with the same enthusiasm as I had experienced years before. Sadly, no. Turns out it's a good indicator of the overall apathy and dismissiveness of the staff.
My wife and I chose to eat here one particular night a couple of days ago, because it's close, fast and easy, and she likes having the abundant chips and salsa to snack on later. We had just closed up our business for the night after a long and busy day and were hungry and thirsty. We arrived at 8:00pm. I got iced tea, which I downed pretty quickly after sitting down to eat. I got up at 8:15 to refill my cup. The iced tea was gone. They had taken it back to the kitchen to dump it. I asked the employee if this was what had happened, and he said yes. I asked why, since the restaurant was still open for another 45 minutes, and he mumbled something like, "Because they take it back to dump it". I know, makes zero sense. So, I start to go sit down, and he goes to the back and comes back to me and says, that they hadn't dumped it yet, so he brings the container back out and sets it on the counter. I say, "I'm pretty thirsty, so I will probably get more, so please don't take it yet." I fill my cup 2 more times (I said I was thirsty), and about 8:35, the same guy comes up to my table and says the following: "Sir, do you think you will want any more tea, because my co-workers would really appreciate it if they could dump the tea." At this point I am speechless, so I just shake my head. I can hear him go back to the rest of the crew and tell them. They say, "Are you sure?" He says, "Yeah, he said he was done." This is at 8:35, mind you.
Almost immediately after the Tea Debacle, the same employee starts breaking down the salsa bar. MIND YOU, there are at least 5 active tables in the restaurant at this point, eating (and everyone has chips). My wife wanted to take a little more salsa to go, since we had a lot of chips, but she felt like she had missed her chance. Rushed, she gets up while the employee goes to the back for a second, and scoops up some salsa while he's away, as if stealing it. My wife told me that this happens often.
Like I said, we own a business, and can't always get away before late. However, one hour before close should be enough time to enjoy a relaxed meal after a busy day without feeling like we have to beg for more tea & salsa.
I honestly have no idea who reads these. If it is the franchise owner, then I strongly encourage there to be some retraining. I don't like to write poor reviews. When we receive a poor review, we take it extremely seriously, because we never want anyone to feel like they had a bad experience with us. This is our livelihood, and if employees are giving poor customer service, then that reflects poorly on us, and we lose business. Sadly, this place...
Read moreUnspeakably bad. Moe's used to be amazing 5+ years ago but this place has gone so far down hill. I thought about calling the manager and complaining about my recent meal but I didn't even want free food after my recent trip. The steak was not edible. Rubbery, fatty, zero flavor. The worst steak I've ever been served.
Customer service was bad. Wasn't greeted, the girl tried to yell across the kitchen to ask what we want instead of finishing up what she was doing and then serving us. My girlfriend's bowl ended up with dark meat because she asked for "chicken" without realizing there's two types (Adobo Dark meat, and white meat), so instead of asking what kind of chicken the lady just decided to serve her dark meat. Chips were stale. $3.19 for a large soda (Lord). I don't have one good thing to say about this place other than it used to be good. But like so many other good places, time and expansion has ruined this franchise as they cut costs to maximize profit.
I wouldn't eat here again if you paid me to. I wish I could give zero or negative stars. And it's unfortunate because this used to be one of the best southwest grill's you could eat at. I almost considered calling my credit card company and reporting this as fraud, because the food quality is truly...
Read moreTonight i had trouble with Ubereats. At first the restaurant packed half of the correct order. They put someone else’s order in with mine and forgot one part of mine. I reached out to the Ubereats driver to see if he could come back and take the wrong order and get the correct to which he did not answer the phone. I contacted the restaurant immediately and the manager stated he could refund the order but wouldn’t be able to bring the correct part of the order because it was just him and 2 other people. I told him he could just refund it and I’d order again. I ordered again and another Ubereats driver picked it up. The Ubereats driver arrived at the restaurant then left and went down the street across the highway and did not answer when i asked if he was getting my food. I contacted Ubereats and they tried to contact him and he did not answer. They reassigned my order. I contacted the new driver via message to ask if she could make sure everything was correct and fresh before bringing it. The manager went out of his way to make my whole order again (including the correct part of the order earlier) and once it was delivered to me all the way in Marysville it was still fresh! So thank you to whoever was the manager tonight 5/3/2024 because i appreciate you greatly for providing...
