I don’t really like to give bad reviews. But maybe this could be a helpful review. I have been to this Anthem location many times over the years, in fact, it has some very good memories for me. In the past, it has always been clean and well cared for. I have not been in a while. But came back yesterday for a meeting. I noticed there was a few bits of food on the floor, and dirt, and some places where it looks like a spill had not been mopped up. We started our meeting, and I was very distracted because there were some flies that were in the corner that seem to be attracted to the food crumbs on the floor. The service was good. And my espresso shake tasted good (I think?). But I did not enjoy it really very much. Because the overall cleanliness took away from the atmosphere, and made it difficult to enjoy my shake. I have been a customer of many of the Anthem locations over the years. And I was kind of surprised to see this. I hope this information will be helpful, not negative.

My son always begs for the live out loud sandwich. I’ve been coming to anthem for a solid 10+ years when the only location was downtown Puyallup. (That’s when it was really good!) Then I started going to the History Museum location. After we moved to Puyallup we went the Sunrise Medical and now to the Sunrise location during the week and a lot of times on Saturday mornings for a break from the ministry. I always thought it was pretty pricey for what you get. For example the fries are $7 and avocado toast $10+ for a very small and thin portion. I understand it probably has a lot to do with the commercial space that they are in. And we all know post covid we pay more for less. The snicker doodle cookie is to die for and I would continue coming back just for that plus the sandwich and mango shake my child loves Friendly and helpful service.

Visiting from the Bay Area, my local friend took me to Anthem for the first time and it did not disappoint. I’m usually picky about coffee, but the Cold Brew Macchiato was a hit. I was worried it might be too sweet, but the staff was very helpful and guided me through it. The afternoon ambiance was quiet and relaxing, which made it a great place to sit and enjoy. Parking was a little tricky but still manageable. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely be back.

The food is alright if pricey. not really much in the way of meal sized portions but it's a coffee shop not a restaurant. service is usually really friendly and accurate while the atmosphere can be rather loud during their busy times. the high ceiling is a great amplifier so if you want to guarantee quiet I'd bring headphones or earplugs.

my first visit to this location there was a cashier who was rather irate about my insistence on 2% milk. The reason for my insistence is that milkfat makes a flavored white coffee drink taste like steamed milk with no flavor and for $8 that's simply not worth it. that employee as well as the rest have been wonderful every visit since but i mention it to illustrate my need for my order to be correct. Especially when i drive nearly an hour each way. we eventually worked out that it was safest for me to order my drinks with 1% milk as anything else required mixing 1% and whole milk which ran the risk of making me sick.

yesterday 1/20/2024 a new cashier (to me) was in the store. i ordered my usual (white Choc. peppermint mocha, 1%, white coffee, hot & plain bagel, garlic cream cheese). i was told they have to add the 1% as a note when i saw on the register screen that she chose to ring it up as SPECIFICALLY "whole milk". she then refused to finalize the sale claiming there was an error (screen said it was waiting for cashier input) and rang up my order (listed above) on the window register having me pay on the little handheld so I couldn't see what I was paying for.

EVERYTHING ON MY ORDER WAS WRONG. what she rang up and what I got was as follows (white Choc, 1%, white coffee & pizza bagel, garlic cream cheese). I mistakenly thought the drink was not 1% because there was no flavors and was initially quite upset until my drink was made the way i order it. i even had to eventually throw away the rest of my bagel after trying to choke it down because I don't like causing problems. turns out the reason I don't order pizza bagels is because I don't like them. Go figure...

Based on the interaction with the cashier this was clearly intentional on her part so let me state a few phrases so that management Understands the Risks involved with employing those who will mess with a customers food.

"allergen" "deathly allergic" "Dead On Arrival" "intentionally altering the customers order without their knowledge"

I've also found that employees who believe such vindictive behavior is acceptable tend to surround themselves with people who are equally accepting of endangering those they validate "not liking" which has lead to me being poisoned, followed home, etc. in the past by both employees and their friends/family of various businesses that supported such behavior.

If you couldn't tell I am still very upset over my treatment yesterday. No customer should have to be subjected to what this cashier did to me and my food. Not just for the risks mentioned above but because it simply shows a lack of respect for the customer, the employer, and the job.

Messing with my food, finances, safety, or those i care about are guaranteed ways to...

Gotta change my review from a 2 star to a 4 star, here’s why. I’ve visited this location several times after writing my review and things have improved greatly. My order has been perfect and the wait time has improved. I will say that the drive through is much much faster. There’s never any consistency here at this location. Either our coffee is too sweet, to milky or the wrong coffee is made. There front door says There’s a mask mandate but like most places, the mask is worn as a chin hammock or just mocked some sort of way. I only mention mask in my review for those who care. The two stars are for my last visit, 20 Dec 21. I ordered (1)16oz Americano and it turned out to be some sort of latte. I realized that it was a latte 5 min down the road. The wait for coffee is pretty ridiculous every time we order in store also. We were the only customers inside and at some point you ask yourself, how long has it been? I understand it’s a weird season with Covid and all but man do it seem like the drive thru...
