✨️ Beau Thai was soooo gooood 😫😭 I actually went back a SECOND time a couple days apart because the food was just pure divine essence. 🥲 This restaurant (Mt. Pleasant neighborhood of Washington, DC) is legit great Thai food.

Friendly service, great "Winter Specials" menu still going on (as of March 1st, 2025), awesome brunch items, balanced dishes between veggies + salt + rice + meat, and overall elegant presentation (as well as gender neutral bathrooms 🚻 for a SAFE neighborhood 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈). I love love love the food here. 10/10 stars 🌟

Also...who knew that fried dough (Thai Donuts) with condensed milk or honey AND SHREDDED CARROTS together is *amazing?? I certainly did not, but it is. 😋

**FOODIE TIP... Don't spread dome-shaped rice around the plate. It will retain its heat, as well as its moisture better for a perfect texture throughout the meal!

Dishes ordered: BKK Spicy Basil Rice (w/ beef for me)...nice and hot! BKK Brussels Sprouts 🤌 Thai Donuts (📷 5, 6, 9) Crispy Roti (📷 7, 8) Spring Rolls

🅿️ NOTE I came without a reservation for both dinner and brunch. Plenty of tables (indoor or outdoor streatery) + indoor bar space, though a reservation might be good for groups. Parking is neighborhood or street parking. Columbia Heights metro station (green line 🟩) is ~10 min walk to restaurant and street)

Highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list if exploring NW DC. ❤️

This has been one of our favorite places since moving here last year. Tonight pretty much erased that.

This is two part: One on Caviar and one one the restaurant because that’s the provider THEY CHOOSE, and their rude manager hung up on me when I asked about having an order remade.

We placed an order at 6:40pm and a 30-40 min deliver window was provided to us.

It’s now 7:57pm and our order hasn’t been picked up.

I called once at 7:25 to verify our order was ready and the person who answered said it had been ready 10-15min (since around 7:15)

I attempted to contact Caviar/Doordash CX via web, app and twitter to no avail. It seems to be down.

Still no “Dasher” assigned.

I called back at 7:45 when our order was 1 hour out and had been sitting for 30 min.

Put on my Karen hat and asked for the manager. He straight up lied when I asked if they could remake the order and told me the food had only been sitting for 10 min.

Then told me I could come pick it up but they wouldn’t remake it, honestly that part IS on them. They CHOOSE the platform for delivery.

He hung up on me and here we are. 8:03 got the notification that food has been picked up and that the driver is near...which is impossible.

Hour old pad Thai is gross, and would have been considered “dead in the window” at a restaurant. It would never or should never be served!

It sits at the bar, out of temp for and hour? That’s a call to the Health Dept.

Sure things are difficult but that doesn’t give folks...

I went here today and was very disappointed with the customer service I received from one of the staff that's at the register. I received my order and there was a problem with it so I called and told them, I asked them if I could have oysters sauce on the side and that would solve it for me. They told me no to the sauce and said to bring back the food, I told them I was hungry and just needed the sauce, I didn't want to be wasteful. The employee who was on the phone was a 20 something old 5"7ft Latino guy who started to use really old slang words to me. I told him that I was already on my way back to the restaurant and just needed the sauce, I had already left my food at the house and had started walking back to the restaurant since the employee originally said yes to the sauce, he just make sure so he asked his team. So I explained to him that I had already left my house and the food and was on my way, he said " THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US, YOU WALKING BACK AND FOURTH IS YOUR OWN PROBLEM" I was confused as to why he would think it's okay to talk to people like this, he is a terrible representation of the restaurant that I go to twice- four times a month.

You don't have to worry about seeing me again, I will not be coming back here. There is much better food in...

We made our first trip to Beau Thai on 7th St, years ago and have been ordering delivery from the Mt. Pleasant St location during the pandemic. This has been one of our go to places for a few months. Everyone in our family has collective and individual things they like here. Anytime we are thinking movie night or just relax and not cook during a weekend, we have been getting Beau Thai delivered. It has normally been excellent quality, but after our last order, a couple weekends ago, I'm not sure we'll be back. During the week I pulled the fried rice from the fridge, put a spoonful on my plate, and thought it looked odd. It became apparent that there was a large bug, cooked onto a piece of chicken in our rice. Large enough that a chef should have seen that without difficulty, cooking it, when it entered, or if it was on an ingredient before it was put in, and thrown the batch out instead of serving it. We really liked this place.

A good, reliable, local spot for Thai food. I enjoyed all the dishes I ordered and thought they were good value, with some areas for improvement. The shrimp cakes were freshly fried but a bit bland, the Penang curry was extremely flavorful but I would have liked some more vegetables, and the drunken noodles had nice fresh wide rice noodles and a good spice level, but the beef was overcooked and tough. Service was great and attentive. It seems like their reservation system is broken - they showed as having no tables available until 9pm, but I arrived earlier and the restaurant was nearly empty. Don’t be dissuaded if the online system says there’s no tables.
