This spot is a STAPLE in uptown (N.W.) D.C. It’s been around for over 40 years serving up that good carryout food!! It IS taco Tuesday, so I figured why not go revisit a spot I knew from my childhood!! Let’s GO!! . Where I am: @donjuansdc . Location Reviewed: 1660 Lamont St., N.W. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: Tacos, Enchiladas, Subs, Fries, Salads, Soups, Chicken, Steak, & Fish Entrées, Fajitas, Burritos, Beer, Cocktails, Wine, & MUCH more!! . Items Reviewed: Their Mango Smoothie (with Tajin on the rim $6). STAMP!! Refreshing, FRESH, & cool!!

Their Complimentary Chips & Salsa (with salsa Roja). DELICIOUS! Tasty.

Their Pupusa’s (1 with cheese, 1 with pork & cheese,1 with bean & cheese, a cabbage slaw & hot sauce $3.50 each). STAMPthem ALL!! Thin, crisp, cheesy, with that slaw & hot…absolutely delicious!!

Their Seafood Ceviche (with diced crab legs, fish, shrimp, onions, cilantro, lime, & corn $16.95). STAMP!! Tart, meaty, & well seasoned!!

Their Steak n Cheese Combo (flat steak with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, cheese, mustard, & seasoned fries $11.95). LIKE THAT!! This took me back to my youth, not the highest quality ingredients…but good!! The fries were DELICIOUS!

Their Sopa De Mariscos (a mildly spicy creamy soup with shrimp, mussels, calamari, clams, scallops, fish fillets, vegetables, and clams $19.95). STAMP!! Get this!! A little heat, creamy…almost cheesy, & well prepared!!

Their Tacos (All on corn tortillas with Pico de Gallo, a verde salsa) Their Carne Asada Taco($4.95)…STAMP!! Well seasoned, tender beef!!

Their Chicken Taco ($4.75)…LIKE THAT!! Add that salsa!!

Their Shrimp Taco ($5.95)…LIKE THAT!! Plentiful garlicky shrimp, tasty!!

Their Don Juan Mar Y Tierra Platter (with grilled shrimp, sausage, NY Steak, chicken, a fried egg, rice, black beans, Pico de Gallo, cheese, & jalapeños $29.95). STAMP the sausage, & shrimp. Grilled to perfection.

The steak, & sides were LIKE THAT!! Well blended, & seasoned!!

The Chicken was DELICIOUS!Tasty with that verde salsa. . Customer Service: On Point . Online Navigation: Easy . Parking: Rough . Recommendations: Everything STAMPED!!

The environment around this establishment was all right but when it comes to the menu and the cleanliness or rather I should say that organization of the restaurant it felt very underwhelming to say the least. The vegetarian option was kind of laughable to be honest who makes a burrito with broccoli and cauliflower and carrots and basically nothing else inside It was very dry. the ceviche that I had was very well presented so I give them points for that but the chunks were rather large and I could definitely tell that it was bottled lemon juice rather than fresh squeezed lemon juice or lime juice. If you're going to charge the prices that you charge I'd consider swapping to fresh food rather than bottled ingredients. The chips and salsa that came out at the beginning were very exciting to us and fell flat the moment we dipped our chips into the salsa It's basically a very very runny tomato sauce with close to no extra flavor no chunks no nothing. I think this place has potential because I can tell that the chef wants to put effort into the presentation of the food I think it just needs a little pick me up and this place is well on their way to success hopefully you guys will be on the rise I'll give you guys a chance in the future. But thank you for the service everybody...

Do not go here… I went here tonight and had the worst experience with the waitress. Her name is Joseline.

They charge you different a different price then what it is on the menu. They also charge you an automatic gratuity tip even for a party of 2. When I asked her why that was charge she just removed it and then placed the bill at the corner of the table without handing it back. It was at the other side where I was sitting at.

Extremely immature. I got only 1 coke, 2 pina coladas without alcohol and an orchata and it came out to almost 32 dollars.

Please compare your bill with the prices on the menu as they do not match.

The attached photo is after I asked her to remove the gratuity since she billed it...

I was a little disappointed with the food. it seems like they use the cheapest ingredients and canned food. Rice and beans weren't the best, and we randomly ordered cheese dip. I'm not sure if it was on the menu or not, but it wasn't queso. Just canned jalapeno cheese. The guacamole and salsa were good, nothing to write home about. We got fajitas, the chicken was simple, and steak was good but fatty. And as you can see in our pictures, mainly came with onions. Not many peppers, unfortunately. Our drinks were okay but just seemed like a pretty made mix. The prices are a little cheaper but still ran 2 people $100 with gratuity.
