I’ve been wanting to come here for a while because I am from Honduras and there aren’t many Honduran food spots in DC. It’s a small space but we were lucky enough to get a table for 4. The waitresses were very sweet. It did take a while, once we were done, for them to come check on us to provide the bill but that is my only slightly negative comment. The food was absolutely delicious! The table shared chips and guacamole. I got the cheese pupusa and beef empanadas. The empanadas were hands down the best I’ve ever had! I also love all the Honduran art they have hanging around the restaurant. Can’t wait to come back!

Such a hidden space you wouldn’t notice it. The space is small in seating but worth the visit. Ordered a chicken milanesa torta and baleadas which are tortillas filled with refried beans, crema, eggs, avocado, and you can also add meats if you want. Definitely check it out was our first time there. The server was super friendly. The only thing I was not a fan of was the horchata. Did have a water down taste with sugar flavor my fiancé enjoyed it though. You may like it too but it is all up to you if you decide to try it. I give them a five stars for the food flavor.

Tonight was my first time trying Honduran food. Yum. I had the pastelitos de carne o polio. Delicious. My dining companion had a fabulous fried chicken with plantains dish. They also had old standbys (read: Americanized tastes) like nachos and fajitas. The owner and his staff are very friendly and glad to have new customers. He mentioned he'd be expanding his menu soon and getting a liquor license. Brightly lit and many tvs playing. Not my thing. The prices are btw $10-$15 for entrees. Overall, i'd say it's a great addition to the neighborhood.

I ordered Honduran tacos (fried flautas) and one torta (sandwich) on 8/18/2025. Unfortunately, I found flies in my food.

I live 45 minutes away from this restaurant, and it was extremely frustrating to get home, discover the issue, and not be able to eat my dinner. On 8/19/2025, I returned to the restaurant to address the problem. Instead of offering an apology, the staff told me they had to speak with the owner first, and they seemed irritated, claiming they had never received a complaint before—except for mine.

This lack of concern for a serious health and safety issue is deeply disappointing. Not only was my meal ruined, but I also had to spend additional time and effort driving back, only to be treated without courtesy or understanding.

Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I will also be contacting the Department of Health so they can conduct an inspection to ensure food safety standards...

I've been going to his other grocery store for years, because they make it very easy to send money internationally. They are also conveniently located to me right off 12th Street. I came back from Mexico and was saddened to learn that his grocery store had burned down. I remember the Owner had told me about the new restaurant that he opened up called Benito's Place. I wanted to ask him for his recommendation for a new store that transfers money internationally. Come to find out, he told me he now offers the money transfer service right in his restaurant. That was more than great luck for me, since he already had my information and the recipient's already in his system. Since I had been craving something Mexican ever since I returned, I wanted to try out his quesadillas. They...

I am so excited to see Benitos join the neighborhood! Food here is great and the place has an intimate, neighborhood feel.

The first time I stopped by right after it opened, I ordered some tacos to go. When I mentioned to the man who was taking my order that I was excited to see them open, he said "Do you have a couple extra minutes? I'd like you to try this new dish were making." Hard to say no to an offer like that! It ended up being some sauce and cabbage on a bed of plantain chips. It was absolutely delicious, and I was told it's usually served with fish or chicken.

Anyway, would highly recommend, especially if you're looking for some...
