Great and long anticipated addition to the Logan Circle / Shaw neighborhood! DC restaurants tend to be very dog friendly but having a dedicated space for our furriends is much needed (especially since not all restaurant diners appreciate sharing space with dogs).
I initially struggled to find pricing information on their website but the Dog Daze Instagram and email newsletters provide step-by-step instructions. I strongly recommend you register your dog prior to visiting. At the in-person check-in, someone will verify your records (when I first uploaded my dog’s info, the website stated his vaccines were out to date).
The space is very well maintained and there’s at least one or two Pup Patrols maintaining order and good behavior.
Since Dog Daze had just opened and Halloween is approaching, I reached out to their management team to organize a birthday party for my dog. Mainly, I wanted to cover the garden passes for our guests but also respect the establishment’s rules since I hosted 8-10 dogs plus their humans. Thus, my review is for a more formal party, but you can definitely have a more low-key event (i.e. ask your friends to meet you there to celebrate a special occasion).
Kyle, Brad, Jacob, and the team were great! Very communicative and they streamlined their process to accommodate my large-ish group. My party was on a weekend (Saturday) and they tend to get busy around noon but they made sure to prioritize my guests in case the park got too full and customers needed to be turned away due to capacity issues The team set aside two picnic tables and pushed them together to form a long table. Everyone was extremely attentive and communicative (but to be honest, having been there once before, this is the norm). It was initially envisioned to be a 2 1/2 hour event (but we stayed a little longer, management wasn’t going to kick us out). They did ask that we spend a minimum of $350 which I felt was reasonable given our party size of 10-12 adults though we definitely exceeded it. 😉 My guests had a great time and plan on returning for more casual hangouts, as do we! We also enjoyed the Chicago tavern style pizzas, which are cut into squares and more manageable to eat when the entire dog park descends upon in a fluffy feeding frenzy. We loved the white pizza. We also had the Sweet 100 and P.E.P. Pizza and would definitely order again.
If you’re planning to come here for a special occasion: I advise that you clear food items prior to bringing them into the garden. Having been to Bark Social (MD) and Barkhaus (VA), this is pretty standard policy and it’s meant to ensure the health and safety of all visitors. Spaces like this will also host special events (can be breed specific meetups, holiday celebrations, or in partnership with local vets or rescues), so you’re strongly encouraged to sync with their social calendars.
I would love to see them to stick around the neighborhood so I hope everyone passes through at one point with their dog, whether it’s through a special meet-up or just to watch sports (they have 2 outdoor screens in the dog garden). I also want to point out the bathroom in the garden is so cozy and adorable (and also clean).
My dog and I give this 5 stars (or 4 paws 🐾🐾🐾🐾).

Read moreWe were at Dog Daze Social Club on Saturday for their "soft opening" and it was way more than expected. From the beautiful well thought out garden area for both dogs and people to hang out which also includes a shipping container with a bar and bathroom and two large TV's on top for watching sporting events, and plenty of seating for outdoor dining/drinking while watching your dog or just enjoying the garden area. The inside of the cafe/restaurant has a great vibe with a fresh unique design that opens to a covered patio. Between us, we had most of the cocktails on the menu which were (to use the word again) unique to other bar/restaurants and were very very good. We started with the candied nuts and bread with dips which are made in-house and they were much better than you would typically find, and the caesar salad with white anchovies was perfect. We tried a few of the Chicago tavern-style pizzas which are made from scratch including the pepperoni pizza with a generous portion of pepperoni and topped with a glaze and fresh graded parmesan cheese as well as the "Sweet 100" and white pizza and I will say, they were all fantastic and different than I have had in DC. We ended with the soft serve Fior di Latte with lemon crumbles and olive oil and the black and blueberry sorbet topped with lemon crumble and 19 year old balsamic. Both were awesome and I doubt you will find anything like this anywhere else in the DC area. This is a place that I could frequent several times a week, I most likely will since there are many more items on the...
Read moreI absolutely love this place- I just became a member because my dog has a great time, it’s clean, good music and cocktails are awesome. The people that work here are also very nice.
My issue is the food and wine.
Don’t get me wrong, the food we’ve had has been really good but it def causes digestive duress.
I have had the “Duke” sammy and first time it had so much oil? Mayo? That it was dripping. Great flavor, just too oily. I got it again and asked for “no oil”. Seemed almost as drippy which leads me to believe it might be mayo? but still made the sandwich seem more like soupy bread but with a HARD outer crust. Both times I’ve had it, my stomach was a bit off after.
Without solicitation, a few others have said, “stay away from the pizza; it’ll make you sick.” Noted. My boyfriend had the “Chloe” sammy (not nearly as good as the Duke) last weekend and ate half that night and was sick 8 hrs later. Thought it was something else but then next day he ate the other half and god sick again. Their beers and cocktails are far superior to their wine, so drink those!
I really do love this place but am wary of their food at this point. I’m not really here to eat anyways and based on all the awesome reviews, my belly might just be high...
