We came here for breakfast one morning craving bagels as soon as it opened at 7:00 am. We were only in town for a work conference for a week and ended up getting our daily bagel 4/6 days! The restaurant wasn’t too busy that early in the morning. It’s a hidden gem right in the heart of downtown and a great spot to enjoy an amazing meal to start your day. The menu offers vegetarian options as well as substitutions. The first day I ordered just a bagel with egg and cheese, along with a double shot espresso ( they serve Lavazza here, so it was great!). The serving was extremely generous for a bagel and ended up being pretty filling! My colleagues ordered the daily special on a bagel: 3 eggs, avocado and bacon. It was huge, extremely flavorful, and they absolutely finished the whole thing! Some of them even ordered a second one! The second day I ordered the daily special as well but had them substitute the bacon for mushrooms, it was exceptionally delicious! Their service was fast and the staff extremely friendly and attentive. Overall an absolutely fantastic experience and we will definitely be coming back if in...

I have never in my life experienced such horrible customer service. No greeting, no welcome. After ordering food, they didnt make us aware to pick up order in different section( 1st time visitors/tourists) not locals. We sat down assuming our food would be brought to us, like most cafés do. The waiter slammed by sons food tray down and abruptly said HERE!. I was taken aback for a second with what transpired before I approached the owner with my disappointment. I told him what happened and he abrasively said, and ok.... you should have picked up your order here and at least we brought it to you. Reminder after transaction of ordering food, no one said pick up your food in a certain area. Im very appalled at this point and asked for my money back. The owner/ manager was extremely rude, no apology, argumentative, and disgusting towards us. Horrible owner, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Will never in my life come here again. I have videos...

I’m so lucky that my office is a few doors down from City Place. Great place for a morning coffee and bagel, and I love their lunches! The sandwiches, wraps and paninis are absolutely delicious, every single time and there’s a huge variety of options. Salad bowls are a generous size and always fresh. The menu is tweaked seasonally and everything is prepared with care (current favorite is the ham, Brie and green apple panini OMG so good).

Jawad will give you a big smile when you come in and all the staff are super friendly and have an uncanny ability to remember everyone’s names. It has such a great vibe.

My office has ordered catering from City Place a few times - their bagged lunches are always a huge hit. Individual bags containing sandwiches, fruit, potato chips and a cookie - very covid-safe but also delicious and fun.

If you’re a regular, I recommend using the app to order ahead,...

My husband and I stopped by for a quick bite. We both agreed that the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant was probably the best we have ever had. We ate it immediately when we got it. The cheese was gooey and melted. The bacon was crisp. The eggs were fully cooked. The croissant was lightly buttered, flaky, and delicious. The sandwich was so good, I didn't even consider putting ketchup on it, like I normally would. Highly recommend a fresh bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant from City Place Cafe!! 10/10! The staff were polite as well. Prices very reasonable too! ... It was so good, after one bite, I couldn't stop devouring it. Lol. The photo was an after thought.

If you’re near Farragut Square, this cafe is great for a quick breakfast. The person working the counter is super friendly and knows his regular customers. It’s always a good sign when locals are going in and don’t need to order. I ordered a coffee and the Za’atar Avocado Toast. Coffee was good, made with Lavazza beans and the Za’ater Avocado toast was delicious and also inexpensive. If the same was sold at one of those retail coffee shops, it would easily be double the price. Good food, good coffee, and reasonably priced; what’s not to like about this place!
